I like the pacing these last two episodes, they've jumped the shark lol. But dam eugene is annoying. He's like the butt baby of kenny powers and forest gump.

And another ex cat member of The Wire joins the cast. I hated him so much in the Comic, just annoyed the hell out of me.

This show is absolutely on fire this season. The machete scene didn't necessarily catch me off guard, but I was a tad surprised at the brutality of it. Gareth deserved it.

Not thrilled about the group separating, again, but we all saw it coming.

Really hope the show continues at this pace, and that we also start seeing more of Carol and Darryl.

Glad that didn't last long. The entire governor business lasted way too long, and I'm glad these villains didn't overstay their welcome.

I'm interested to see what they do with the Beth storyline, that's seems really interesting to me right now.

If the people who have Beth are the people I'm thinking of ... I don't think many are going to be happy with what happens next.

Alright.

Be aware, the show does seem to follow the overarching path the comics laid out. Most plot points from the series are conveyed in the show, usually it's even in the same order.

Also, my recollection of everything I'm talking about might not be 100% accurate, it's a storyline that's been running for a couple years.

With that being said:
In the comics there's a character named Negan. He's a real piece of shit.

In the comics The Governor wasn't as large of a villain as they made him out to be in the show, and in the show they even lightened him up a bit. There's a few things he does in the comics that are truly horrible.

In the show, during the season premire they showed a guy come into the train car during the flashback ... that is exactly what Negan looks like. In the show they also implied this guy is a rapist. So, it kind of seems like they're rolling in some comic-governor aspects to his character that weren't explored in the show-governor.

In the comics, Negan is a substantially worse person than the governor. He basically runs a biker gang of hundreds exploiting survivors in the area for rations and either setting them up to be overrun by zombies or just straight up killing people.

The first time the group encounters Negan, he beats Glenn's skull in to make a point to their group then monologues to them.

Though the show doesn't always follow the comics exactly, so far Carl still has all of his face in the show and Andrea was still alive the last time I read it.

I'm not completely current, though. I have "All Out War" sitting here, and once I'm done with that, I'll still be a couple months behind.

The truth is, in the comics, so many characters, major or not, bite it so easily it's hard for me to keep track sometimes. Glenn was a big deal (Thanks for that issue #100 special, Kirkman) so was Abraham.

Though the comic also dealt with this Eugene business sooner. So, who knows?

Issue #100. What a "fuck you" to the fans.
Something about turning Glenn's face into ground mush was distasteful and unnecessary. Sure, it's a comic about zombies and death, but that move left a lot of readers feeling disrespected. It is a bit silly to feel that strongly about a fictional character, but that issue did rub it in your face.
I think we'll always have a two handed Rick. If it hasn't happened by now, I doubt it will ever happen.
