Stretching the rules a bit maybe, but Symphony of the Night PSP vs Symphony of the Night PS1 (or PSN I suppose)... handheld's based on the Saturn version and adds Maria back in.

But I dunno if you really want to count that or not.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

You can't say that with out mentioning it would also compare Castlevania X: Rondo of Blood for PSP vs PCE

Only left it out because I wasn't sure if he wanted to include imports or not.

I personally thought all those conversions were not that good, with Blackthorne almost unbearable to play.

Were you playing it on an SP though? Surely they blew up the brightness for play on a regular GBA with just reflected light.

SP, but it's more then that. That game you really need to see your surroundings. The GBA resolution cuts off so much. Waterfall area could mean death in the GBA port, but it's clear that there is safe land in the other ports. Any way the 32x even better besides looking plastic.

Gamesack talks about the games different ports.

Ah right, had forgotten since it isn't a game I've really played in forever and the GS video is older too.

I'm not familiar with the Sega junk, just the PC, SNES and GBA version. I'd take the GBA over the SNES but PC over both. The SNES bugs the crap out of me for a few reasons, some still apply to the GBA though like the removal of the bloody bits, but that bs password was just annoying and there were a few other odd tweaks. The only downer to me on the GBA is the smaller view area, but, that said I prefer it as there aren't really any questionable leaps of faith at least to me like how badly the DKL/DKC games were wrecked on GB/GBC.

Phantasy Star collection GBA vs Phantasy Star - SMS/ Phantasy Star 2 and 3 - Genny

By the way, the GBA version is notorious for deleting saves for no reason.

There was also a DS collection of all Mega Drive Sonic games, which is really bad.
Oh man, the GBA version of Sonic The Hedgehog. Soooooo bad.

Now, the 3D version done by M2, now that is Sonic on the go at its finest. Actually, all the M2 3D ports that I've tried are just wonderful.
