I am still trying to decide on an avatar. Never considered a name change. Maybe I should have a pick my avatar contest LOL.

Maybe you can auction off a name change in the charity auction!

Are you going to go find every feedback message in the thread and convince all of those people to edit them to say the new name if you convince us to as well? It isn't like you named yourself Ilikethesmellofmyownfartsandlustaftermycousin or something, 8bit is a perfectly fine name to me and everyone knows that as you.
I don't think that would really be necessary since a (formally 8Bit) statement next to my name in the feedback totals would suffice. But just to be clear I was being facetious.

However it does irk me that there are loopholes to a simple issue of members wanting to change their user names for simple and honest reasons. There are other forums I've been a part of where it is done with simple rules. For example....
A) Users names can be change no more than once per year.
B) Users with negative feedback may not request a user name change.
C) Users may change their screen name no more than twice over the course of their membership.
D) Previous user names are disclosed below their existing name. (not how it would ever be done here on RB but how its done on gametz.com)

But to be clear, I'm really not trying to throw a bitch fit here. I am very happy with the how the mods conduct their business here on the forums overall. I only intend to point out that I know it could be handled differently if the mods were willing to sacrifice a little bit of their convenience for the satisfaction of the group as a whole.

I say all of this because a three years and then again a year and half ago (and even still) I wish I could change my user name from 8bit to... wait for it.... here it comes... big stupid name on the horizon.... 8bitAndy.

So you no longer wish to sound like the pimp? Instead you want to sound like a cheap gigolo?

J/K...but it does sound worse, you should keep 8bit man, it is a fitting name for the forums.

Cheap gigolos at least get to keep the money they make and pick their "customers"... but seriously as you can see I was trying to keep it simple for those who use to know me by my old username. My thought was simply didn't want to have a name that was generic and non-descriptive.

I should also point out that I think Hobie has it out for me because I tried to kill him with an old CRT of mine. Needless to say it didn't work and he is out for revenge.

I'm just saying. I made this name when I was 14 and I've pretty well settled on the Goldfish alias.

Is a name being a really embarrassing, bad teenage idea a good enough reason to have it changed?

Even Noise called me Goldfish in the Games Beaten thread. I feel like that makes it official.

If not I'll just plaster the name over my sig more than it already is. :P

What!? One person got to change his name!? Let's all whine and cry about how we have to god-given right to bug the mods for name changes every twelve point nine seconds.

Hey, I picked a stupidly-long name for some other forum when I was a teenager, and I just kept using the same stupidly-long name on every forum I use. C'est la vie!
