I'm playing Under Defeat, Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun and Gradius V. All awesome by the way. Planning on hitting R-Type Final and Psyvariar 2 next.

heh. Just completing the game once through - nothing fancy for me to count it as "finished." CC runs would fall into a different category ("mastered"?).

I recently have been dabbling with a few shooters through emulation. The one that is drawing me in is Harmful Park. That game is very entertaining. Blazing Lasers seems pretty awesome too

I'm playing Nanostray on my DS. I originally pirated it from a torrent site just to try it out. I ended up liking it so much, I went onto eBay and purchased a legitimate copy. :)

Edit: That makes two Run 'n' Gun games and two (counting the sequel) Verical SHMUPs on the DS.
Does anyone here know of any Horizontal SHMUPs on the Nintendo DS?

Nanostray 2 is mostly side scrolling but I didn't like it, I suggest you try before you buy. You'll really want to try Glory Days 2 its a really good side scrolling helicopter shooter. Also Sigma Star Saga is for the GBA, but has lots of good side scrolling shmup action. Also it has off ship exploring parts like Guardian Legend, but better.

Been spending more time with RPG's lately, but I did recently get Thunderforce VI for the PS2. Been working my way through that. Also popped in Soukyugurentai for my Saturn the other day. :)

Oh, so it's like Salamander? Hell yeah, I love Salamander. :)

I looked at some screens for that, it looks kinda weird. It makes me want to play it.

The screens for this game look cool. Exploration segments like Guardian Legend sound promising.

What do you think of the upcoming Cosmos X2? I think it looks pretty promising.

Looks cool, but I have a hard time playing shmups on the small screen. My eyes aren't what they used to be.

While I was at work, my wife took down 3 of my high scores on Giga Wing 2. So it looks like I'll be playing that in order to reclaim at least one of those scores.

I started up Ikaruga (Dreamcast) last night to test out the HRAP2SA. It plays well but the stick is loose and obviously intended for fighting games. I may build a custom "shmup" stick later on.
