The wrench in your theory is that these guys have been tracked since high school. Many guys commit to the big schools in 9th and 10th grade now. You cant just magically create extra years in there.Luke wrote:Can't really argue with that.dsheinem wrote: don't try to tell me shit about pretzels, reb. I'm from Pennsylvania.
But if we start throwing around insults about hot dogs...aww man are you in for a beatin'.
I's be name dropping. Not only do I know an NFL QB (well, retired/fired/who knows NFL QB) he's married to one of my best friend's Sister (who was also in athletics).
"Mid Twenties man..you take your time, you add stats, you impress schools and go for an extra four years by any means... Age is a factor, but scouts and agents forget age when it equals in experience and numbers. Unless you a running back or receiver (and this guy worked with a potential HOFer). Dem folks might not even see guaranteed money. Most of my opponents are close to 30 and all have kids. A Masters degree in commun-i-ca-caytions is still another four years on the roster, and a better lead in to get a job in the NFL"
I swear to God herself he said "communi-i-ca-caytions".

lolJohnnyManziel. Enjoy your tenure on the Browns.

woot woot, Jerrah didn't go for the shiny!
That said, we need defensive upgrades, STAT. My vote is bolster the defensive line. It'd be good to have a safety, but hey, if the quarterback gets rushed, the secondary has to work way less hard.

As happy as I am to basically ignore the NFL between February and September, I am also very happy that the season is starting again this week!
And, FWIW, I may have a spot or two left in a straight Pick 'Em league if you are interested. It's $35 for the year and I'd prefer to only include people I am friendly with...so if you fit both of those criteria and want to get in let me know via PM

Packers. Super Bowl. Time to annihilate Carroll and Seahags in their own building. I'm jacked out of my mind for Thursday night

Re: NFL 2014 Thread
NFL has gotten so pansy with all the penalties, I can't even watch it anymore. They care more about brand and image (I.E. $$$) than they do the game.
It's pretty clear the refs are instructed to protect QBs and WRs and the running game has been almost taken out of the game.

They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

Eleven tackles and three sacks. Sounds quite productive, no?
Maybe the F in NFL doesn't stand for "Fun" anymore. Some of you will pick up what I'm putting down.

You don't buy that it was a football decision?Luke wrote:Eleven tackles and three sacks. Sounds quite productive, no?

And that he was mostly going up against other guys who are backups or didnt make the roster. Rams are loaded on the dline and he wouldnt produce on special teams.dsheinem wrote:You don't buy that it was a football decision?Luke wrote:Eleven tackles and three sacks. Sounds quite productive, no?

I'm not well informed enough to judge, as I even have yet to read the finger pointing article about ESPN, but Sam was a stand out performer.dsheinem wrote:and

Sure, the spotlight was on him, but the spotlight was on him.
Pure speculation right now, but it just seems fishy. I know that it's not always about talent, it's about getting ais. Lord knows Romo only has a job because of his fan base. So why not Sam, who is a character, and is actually good at what he does? Dude should be a shoe in for a multi million dollar contract.
I'm numbers oriented, so when see his stats all I can think is "How?". How is this beast not signed? He's like a fit and young Julius Peppers.
