I've heard of them, not seen them yet though.Xeogred wrote:I'm of the rare group that's always kind of liked Trigun more (can't help but associate the two due to Adult Swim nostalgia). Bebop arguably looks better, is more stylish, and has few more standout moments. But once Trigun gets serious in the second half it's pretty damn good.
You'd probably like Black Lagoon, Gungrave, etc, if you haven't seen them.
And yeah, that's kinda the main reason I liked Trigun more. Each of the shows start off fun and lighthearted with episodes that might as well be disconnected from each other. Trigun doing random futuristic wild west hi-jinks and Bebop doing random outer space bounty hunter hi-jinks. Both were amazing in their own right for those kinds of episodes.
But then near the end they each start getting more serious in tone, and that's where the divide is in my opinion. Trigun still felt fun and exciting the whole way, and it had a conclusive as well as satisfying ending. Bebop on the other hand got a bit more mellow and dramatic. It worked well and the story was still great, but it just wasn't as fun. Then it had a rather ambiguous ending, something which I've never been a fan of.
