These never quite clicked with me, I play Mario 2 on All-Stars for SNES once in a while and it just doesn't do anything for me.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Super Mario Bros. 2

Blaster Master is definitely worth a go just make sure you've got some time to dedicate to it since there aren't any passwords.
Here are some "hidden gem" platformers I highly recommend:
Metal Storm: Brutal but fantastic anti-gravity puzzle platformer.
Shatterhand: This is my favorite action game on the NES. You can PUNCH BULLETS.
Vice: Project Doom: Like Castlevania crossed with Blade Runner, very cool. Don't be fooled by the first level it's a short driving segment.
Power Blade: Really fun game with some minor exploration elements. Much better than the Japanese game it was based on.
Kick Master: Platformer mixed with an action RPG. You've just got to try this one out. It's really unique.
I also second Shadow of the Ninja. Good stuff.

Ninja Gaiden II is significantly more forgiving than Ninja Gaiden; so, perhaps you should consider exchanging your copy of NG for a copy of NGII.SNESdrunk wrote:One is enough (frustration) for me.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Ninja Gaiden II
I second all of these.Gunstar Green wrote:*awesome games*

I haven't bought a single NES game all year, just Famicom games.

I'm right there with you actually. Kind of ran out of NES games I wanted and started picking up Fami exclusives.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I haven't bought a single NES game all year, just Famicom games.

Re: What's your NES library like?
I actually play my NES games on a Generation NEX, which plays both NES and Famicom games. Sadly, however, I do not own any Famicom games...(I really should make a list of good exclusives to pick up at some point.)Gunstar Green wrote:I'm right there with you actually. I also rarely pick up NES games, but that is because I only need the following to complete my collection:

NGII is probably my favorite, the shadow clones rule. NGIII is pretty good too if you play it as Ninja Ryukenden III on the Famicom instead.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Ninja Gaiden II is significantly more forgiving than Ninja Gaiden; so, perhaps you should consider exchanging your copy of NG for a copy of NGII.
It's amazing how they managed to turn the most forgiving game in the trilogy into the most punishing when they brought it overseas.

pfsnl_gmr - pretty good list there. Outside of Dusty Diamond's All-Star Softball, you're looking for the absolute rarest of sports titles.
Do you have the Blades of Steel variant?
