I've had a number of fat models crap out on me, although my most recent one has been fine. My issue is I've got a nearly full 100 GB hard drive from the old model. How do I move that to one of the new ones with the internal HD should something happen?

Hunt down the transfer wire (don't get a knock off I wouldn't trust it with your precious data) or, if it has the latest firmware update, via flash drive which supports up to 64gb. You just have to go back and forth a few times depending on flash drive size.

Ok perfect. I have the older transfer wire and that worked well when I first had to move external to external. Good to know they have one for the newer model.
