What SHMUP(s) are you playing right now?

I've been playing a ton of mars matrix the last few days. Now that i know the scoring system and how to direct the enemy bullets back, it's a whole new game.

also been playing a bit of ESPGaluda, getting a little better at that game as well.

Still playing a ton of Ketsui Death Label, improved my score on normal as far as I think i'll be getting it;

So i'm going to concentrate on Hard A for now. Also, I got a slimline JP PS2 for Christmas, it's the latest SCPH-90000 model and looks great, so glad I can finally play Mushihime-sama again (although my skills have decreased since I last played it, I used to be able to 1cc up to stage 4, but now I can't get past stage 2 ).

Yeah, Mars Matrix got me again over xmas and the new year - on the Dreamcast with arcade stick for some hi-score blasting and on the PSP for practice on the move.

Looking forward to buying and hacking a 2nd hand PS2 as people get rid of their old consoles after xmas to play some JP shooters - Cave games in particular - I don't think i've played anything vertical by Cave thats any more recent than dodonpachi on the Saturn...

Oh year, also Gradius from the Gradius Collection on PSP - I'm constantly amazed by how awesome they managed to make that game nigh on 20 years ago

This is a shmup story, but starts with me downloading Braid earlier and playing it for about an hour. It totally mashed my head, so i had a quick blast in Ikaruga, also on xbox. All was going fine until I made a mistake and the 'reverse time' button didn't work...

Right now I'm mostly playing Gradius V, as I just got it recently. I'm doing pretty well but, that asteroid level just owns me

Also I scored a Saturn with Darius Gaiden not too long ago, and I've been getting into that, although I haven't had a lot of time to dig into it.

Oh, every once in a while I blast through a Life Force run, no deaths til the final escape. That one gate always gets me

alpha mission 2 and ghost pilots on my aes lately. Need to fire up pulstar agian soon. Waiting for a copy of sonic wings 2 to arrive also.

Since I never really got into them, I am playing through some of the Raiden series (in reverse). Just finished III yesterday and am now on II...fairly average shmups but still kind of fun.
