Curiosity, mostly. Language a little bit, there's not much Japanese in it but there's some (after character select). The soft dips are all in Japanese but they're in the same place as the English roms, and I found the instruction sheets for the English version so now I know what the various difficulty/credits per quarter/etc soft dips actually do vs blindly bumbling around.

Mostly I just like pushing the hardware to the limits. 'swhy I have a ton of systems with region free BIOS as well as mod chips even with the fact that I barely play imports. I just like to make it do everything it can do.

So yeah, curiosity :D No big deal (and yeah, I've considered getting a programmer myself as well)

so i can confirm that the battery in the SSFII:NC B board i purchased was replaced with a AA battery pack. there were no batteries in it when i got it so it's definitely dead by now. tested it in my A board in the dynamo and it doesn't do anything. I did however test the A board that came with SSFII with the Puzzle Fighter B board I had and it is working just fine. the monitor in the SSFII cab i bought is wonky, though. i was able to get the picture looking okay but it looks very "wavey" on the left side before it eventually just dies. is this a picture tube thing or capacitors? i should probably take some pictures.

i kinda rambled here.

I'm not familiar with Dynamo monitors, so this is just generic troubleshooting. Do you have pots you can tweak? They'd either be inside the control panel or on the chassis itself - if on the chassis, you need power to be on so you can see how it's going, but be extremely careful around the flyback. Tweak your vertical and horizontal hold and see what it does to the left of the screen? Or, take a pic of you cross hatch screen test and we might be able to tell from that.

yeah there's a remote board that i used to tweak the picture as best i could. still wavey on the sides and, more importantly, goes black after about 2-3 minutes.

Do you hear any sparks or pops? My screen would go black because of my flyback arcing.

I'm eyeing the D&D blue board on Neo-Geo for $150 but I really shouldn't be spending that kinda money.

Because then I need a 4p adapter my supergun.

And 2 more sticks.

Ohhhh down the rabbit hole I go.

That's not bad, the kick harness is about $10, manual is condition dependent - nice manuals can do $10-20, that one is a bit more common, probably about $5-7. The board itself, green boards are about $70 and blue about $75.

@Kalessin - that's my old DnD, it's a nice board w/good label - manual is pretty ratty, but complete. The DnD games actually require a 4th button that may or not be enabled on your supergun - it requires a specialty harness on cabs; game is playable w/o it, but not ideal.

yeah, it's a blue. seller had it up for $125 and i offered $65, and somehow they accepted. i THINK it comes with an A board also, which will be my third at this point.
