19. Shovel Knight (WiiU)

Megaman, Super Mario Bros 3, Zelda II, Castlevania, Ghouls n' Ghosts... and the list goes on.
This game was absolutely awesome and should set the bar for indie games. Indie done right, here. It takes all those influences, brilliantly meshes them together, and still has its own identity. It's downright gorgeous and the music was incredible. I hope this is not only the beginning for Shovel Knight, but more NES styled throwbacks of this caliber to come.
Got close to 5 hours out of my first run, so it's a nice length for something like this too.
Anybody, most of us here I would presume, who grew up on the NES definitely must play this.

I cannot even fathom playing the DKCR games multi, haha.
Did you get to any of the K levels? Think that's what they were called. I unlocked a few and they were insane, they never had a single checkpoint throughout.
I laughed at your Hearthfire note, but yeah I'd say that's "beaten".

I unlocked a few of the lettered levels, but no K levels. Will probably go back and unlock them later, for sure, but I will most definitely be taking a break on it..my brain hurts from all the platformsXeogred wrote:I cannot even fathom playing the DKCR games multi, haha.

LEGO Star Wars Microfighters - iOS *new*
Bioshock Infinite: Burial At Sea Episode 2 - PS3 *new*
Total: 49
Games Beaten: 2013 2012 2011 2010
I enjoyed both Burial at Sea episodes...but I am a total fanboy for the Bioshock series as a whole, I eat up the style and the storytelling, and I've always enjoyed the gameplay…so your mileage may vary. That said, I think Part 2 of the DLC is much stronger: it is a stealth-heavy game where you and it works quite well as a nice change of pace. Lots of sneaking and tranquilizer darts made it feel more like Thief or MGS than any of the rest of the Bioshock series has, and it was a welcome change of pace. There's also a ton of fan service in both episodes (especially the second) and if this is the last Bioshock-related thing we get I can't much complain.
Microfighters is a Star Wars shmup where everything is made out of Legos. It isn't great, but it is fun and I've been playing it off and on for the past month or so.
Hmm, perhaps I'll get to 50 before today is out after all. I do have a lot of writing to do beforehand, though…
(EDIT: Hmm, that essay's not due until tomorrow…so I suppose I do have a bit more free time today

15. *NEW* Psychonauts - PC (June 30)
Another month in TR, another game beaten. At first, this game looked amazing. If Tim Burton directed a Pixar film, you have the graphic style of this game. But, tiny problems became rather prevalent quickly. A confusing camera, an expensive item that needs to be purchased to make it through the final half of the game, and some questionable difficulties in traversing through the levels. It's a shame that a few poor design decisions made this game unbearable at times, but I still think it's worth it just for the entire package and the humorous writing and voice talent by some recognizable names in the industry.

How much were said Curly Wurlys and Cokes when you were a kid? A can of Coke was 50p when I was a nipper, and honestly, even then most arcade machines seemed to be 50p -31 a play (what a rip-off!)
I feel I missed the prime of the arcade period, although I remember having a blast on The Simpsons arcade machine when my family went to the seaside in Hunstanton.
