Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Post by SpaceBooger »

I'm borrowing this game from a friend... has anyone else played this game for the Wii?

I feel as if I am button massing... or remote swinging randomly without knowing what I am doing.
The control scheme for the Wii sucks, I wish I could use my classic controller.

For those who played it: does it get better? will I ever really have control of my characters?

I mostly just use the standard attacks with the occasional super power. I haven't had too much trouble. I do wish it were compatible with the gamecube controller, though.
Comics, RPG's, miniatures, and now retrogaming? I guess its time to learn to go without eating...

I got this for wii the christmas right after wii came out. I was excited about getting it, after liking the x-men legends games on PS2. I played it for about a half hour and then sold it for like 20 bucks. I am thinking about picking it up for ps2 or ps3 and givng it another try, because i did like its predecessors. just could not get into the wii's controls for the game.

I cant seem to get into the controls either. I am playing it on easy to get used to the game but is seems that as long as I am flailing my arms around in any/every direction I keep winning... maybe I will have to restart on a harder level to fully understand the controls... my fear is that if I do - Ill only keep dying from flailing my arms around and still not fully master the controls.

This is a good example of how not to port games to the Wii.

yeah, I also tried it when it came out. I found the controls to be difficult. No where as easy as X-Men Legends. Anyone play one of the other versions? I see the 360 version for cheap and have thought about picking it up.

What exactly are you doing? I'm doing okay, and I almost never use the motion controls. Just use A to attack, B to choose your powers.

Well there is 4 different types of attacks done by swinging the remote... I may try using just the A button, but wouldn't that limit me to 1/4 the attacks?

The standard attack has worked just fine for me so far. ::shrug:: Its not like its any slower than the other ones or anything. You can also do jumping attacks without the motion controls.

I've been slowly playing through the 360 version for a long time now. I like it but it's not quite as good as X-Men Legends was on he original Xbox. I could never play it with motion controls standing in for button presses.
