Irrelevant because as I stated, my other SNES works perfectly fine using the exact same cords to connect to the TV, leading to me to believe the issue is with the console itself, not the TV or the cable connectionmjmjr25 wrote:Irrelevant? Using a non-native connection is irrelevant? Ok.

Not necessarily so? How are you pulling component? If it's a mod to the console (most likely?) then entirely relevant. Particularly as component mods to SNES are known to be incredibly difficult / wonky.

It's a standard AV, going into the component ports on the TV. The component ports on the TV are designed to work with AV cables, it recognizes them as AV cables.mjmjr25 wrote:Not necessarily so? You have not one, but two SNES consoles that natively output component. Wow. Pics, please?jamescurtis24 wrote:It's a standard AV, going into the component ports on the TV. The SNES is using the standard nintendo av cable that everybody uses. The TV is an HD TV, and the component cable port (the red blue and green) DOUBLE AS COMPONENT AND AV. So when I plug AV cables into the component port, it just recognizes them as AV. There's no special mods, it's a specific function of the TV itself.

Re: SNES Vertial Lines Issue
I get what your saying, try the console on another TV that has dedicated composite inputs (the yellow port). I didn't know that new tvs now have component and composite in same ports that it auto detects it. Sounds like that could lead to all sorts of issues.

What billy said.
Do you get lines (even faint) with the SNES power off and the display on?

No, the lines are exclusive to the SNES being on. There is absolute no trace of them when the system is off, or another device is being used on the TV.s1mplehumar wrote:What billy said.

I also just tried deep cleaning the pins, and it made no difference.

I wouldn't do thatjamescurtis24 wrote:I seriously can't tell if you're fucking with me
What you are describing is not possible. The standard SNES AV cable has one input for visual and 2 for audio - regardless of what your TV inputs do, it isn't converting an audio signal from your SNES into Video signals. Unless everything I know about audio / visual is wrong
