Still no word on my wacky blacky console.

I don't mind. I'm balls-deep in the Summer Gaming Challenge right now and I don't need a Retron 5 to play any of those games.

I dont think anyone has a Black one, the Black one is vaporware as far as im concerned.

No review videos even show a Black one.

There are already black Retron 5s in existence. Pretty sure the gray ones just got shipped first.

I'm not sure that a certain type of plastic color can be considered "vaporware" anyway.

HK Mktg has confirmed black units arrived and are shipping out to Amazon, Newegg, and retailers.

1 hour until the release date. Either this is gonna be something awesome or even more fail for Hyperkin.

As far as my order is concerned, apparently no holdups from Newegg and I got the gray one, so maybe hopefully I'll see an email before too long.

Their Facebook is gonna be an interesting read this weekend. Of course all of you that got theirs on the way from Amazon, feel free to share your experiences.

After many delays, this is it. It's go time.

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion but this isn't going to work for me.

I plan on hooking it up to my main TV in the living room. It's a 55'' and I've got in mounted on the wall. The mantle under the TV is where I plan on putting the console, but running an extension to the couch will cut through the middle of the room. Also, the 3 year old terror (i.e. my daughter) I have running around in that area causing chaos is a recipe for a short lifespan for the console. "Daddy, what's this cord go to....?" *shudder*

So, as you can see, the wireless controller option is not only for my convenience, but also for the safety of the RetroN 5. Ahh First World Problems I guess.

I almost drilled holes in my floor to run extension cords underneath my living room and have them come back up by my couch. I did not do it, but still think about it. Imagine just plugging into the floor right by your couch or chair.
