so is it totally feasible to run emus on it AND get system updates whenever you want? - is there a 'dual-boot' type option?

Yes, you still get all new system updates unlike those odd-ball software hacks that used the video player to avoid the protection native on the system and you couldnt update past 2.52 or they wouldnt work, Sony doesnt plan to put its foot into the Linux emulation debate mainly because they either have linux or they dont, and they still see Linux as a minor but still marketable selling point for the system. Also its dual boot or nothing. You either get all PS3 or 10gb to Linux or 10gb to PS3.

hmm Im considering installing Linux just to run some of the audio apps you can get - maybe not though eheh - does anyone know how much the partition that gets made is? - does the PS3 just assign 10GBs? - I think I read that somewhere, but I couldn't find it again

you can give 10gb to the Game OS or 10gb to Linux, either way sucks its so small. Removable storage is always an option though if your running low on space.

well I have a 32GB Corsair USB stick I could use I spose - I have to say though overall there's probably no point in my case. Everytime I install different OS's I just end up looking at the icons for a while, and then realising Im so used to Windows that there's no point. I used to tri-boot some distro of Linux, Windows 2000 and then another partition which would update with every leaked build of XP (before it came out) - at one point I even installed Neptune (albeit on VMWare) just because I thought the boot screen with the weird logo looked cool lol. I had Milestone 4 or wotever of 'Longhorn' and that bastard messed up my boot.ini so since then I havent really installed anything other than my XP. Must... Resist... Installing OS on PS3 for no reason ;p

Actually theres pretty much no point in even trying the audio stuff as I presume there's no standard 'microphone input' thats used/recognised by the OS, unless someones haxored using the headsets?, so if I recorded something it would be upstairs on my main box, so I might aswell just edit it/f around with it right there in Wavosaur lol
