It doesn't come in a folder..its just that PBP file. And it's not working.TSTR wrote:Yep, the OFW EBOOT.PBP should be located in PSP/UPDATE. You can just extract the UPDATE folder that comes in the archive you downloaded straight to the PSP folder. It should work then, at least as far as getting your OFW up to 6.60.

Hmm, after more research, looks like wololo and I are incorrect on that one. The folder the OFW EBOOT should go in is PSP/GAME/UPDATE. Try that and see if it works.

Re: PSP modding help needed
All right so I installed the update, then the CFW...but after I installed the CFW it went to the PSP logo screen before a game starts, then it faided to black (the PSP was still on at this point), then after 30 seconds or so it shuts off. So I tried it again thinking it didn't do it...did the same thing. So I remove that bit and keep the fast recovery file in there thinking it did install? I used the fast recovery because it shut off but it does the same thing as the ProUpdate file.TSTR wrote:Hmm, after more research, looks like wololo and I are incorrect on that one. Do I have the CFW on my PSP or is something wrong? And if I do..how can I find out I do and/or now what can I do?
Re: PSP modding help needed
I had that happen to me when I was using an SD card instead of an actual Pro Duo, but that doesn't seem to be your problem. Let's see if we can figure this out.
1. Turn your PSP off completely by holding the switch.
2. Turn it back on. The PSP should be operating under OFW 6.60 now. This can be confirmed by going to Settings - System Settings - System Information. It should read "System Software 6.60"
3. Check that your Memory Stick is legit by going under Photo or Video, highlighting the Memory Stick, press Triangle, and look at the Information. If it says MagicGate Supported, the stick is legit. Pro Duos have been known to be counterfeited, which can cause problems.
4. If #2 and #3 are good, make sure you have the ProUpdater and FastRecovery folders/eboots under PSP/GAME.
5. Run the ProUpdater once.
Let us know what happens after that.

It turns to the PSP logo screen (like when you start a normal UMD game), then fades to black, and then after a few seconds of black screen, it turns off and stays off unless I turn it on again.TSTR wrote:I had that happen to me when I was using an SD card instead of an actual Pro Duo, but that doesn't seem to be your problem. When you turn it back on and check the firmware version in System Information, what does it say?

Re: PSP modding help needed
Recheck your directories and double-check you're using the latest version of the CFW.
Re: PSP modding help needed
try removing the Memory Stick and boot with a Charger instead of a Battery to get past the PSP logo screen
Re: PSP modding help needed
Also, you may want to back up anything you have on your memory stick to your PC, then format it using your PSP and start the process with a clean slate.
