 : Finally achieved a Top Rated Seller rating on eBay. However the new rating policy will knock me out of it if I have one more "defect".

http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation ... dards.html

This wouldn't really bother me if it weren't for the fact that on average every time I have a buyer having a problem with a disc not reading etc. I have them return it using the eBay returns system to cover both our butts. The most common reason they put for the return is "item not as described" since it isn't functioning properly by the time it gets to them. So far I haven't had any problems with returns and have only had 4 out of the last 165 or so transactions I have had and in all cases they were settled peacefully with full compensation to the buyer.

However this new system counts even resolved returns against you if they are listed as "item not as described". Thing that really sucks is its only allowing me to have 5 "defect" strikes before I loose a seller rating level :P. So 1 more "defect" and I drop back to an average seller again and lose the 20% final value fee discount I just picked up as well as the other perks of being top rated :P. It's kind of crazy that my "evaluation" period is 12 months and with over 165+ transactions having five returns could drop the overall level of my seller account  .

By the old standards I am well within the safety zone for meeting the requirements for being a Top Rated Seller but this will push me right to the edge of loosing it :P .

I really hope they change their mind about this. They are setting the bar ridiculously high by basically merging Neutral and Negative feedback and putting returns on the same level as an unresolved Ebay Buyer Protection case :P.

:) One of my reseller friends was out at the bar last night. He said he's got various stuff I might be interested in and he would get me a list, and whatever I wanted he'd put away and/or give to me and I could pay him in a couple months when my cash situation was better

:D He ALSO was willing to straight-up trade N64 decks -- I have 2, but neither are RGB moddable. I gave him the "Serial number starting with NU1 should work" shortcut and he goes "K, I just found 3 that are in that range, we'll open them up when I come over to your place".
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

Good: A new flea market opened up down the road so I'm going to check it out in a few hours.

Bad: Amazon seemingly changed it's payment policy to where I have to wait 14 days after an order to get paid. I have $150 pending until May 7th, great. It doesn't help at all when it costs me $15-20 out of pocket to ship an order.

:? I live in an densely populated, urban, and liberal section of Charlotte, North Carolina, and I received the following message this morning from the elected official representing me in the U.S. House of Representatives:
This past weekend I was incredibly lucky and honored to have the opportunity to serve as the Grand Marshall and Honorary Starter for the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at the zMAX Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway. What an incredible event and such a fun day. As I said to the crowd on Sunday, I’m proud to be your Congressman which means I go up to Washington every week and tell them to keep their hands off our guns and our freedom.
Hooray for gerrymandering!

:x :Thread over on eBay that shows just how much of a nightmare their new policy really is :P. Didn't realize that the 5% "defect" rate would result in a below average rating and possible suspension of the seller account :P.

Anyone who is buying or selling on eBay should check this out looks like the shit is going to hit the fan in August :P.

...but not to me. The gerrymandering in NC is simply ridiculous. I live in the little "tooth" on the west end of North Carolina's 8th District. It is one of the many slices into Charlotte, NC that my current state legislature created to disenfranchise as many Democratic voters as possible.

North Carolina's population is divided roughly 50/50 between Democrats and Republicans. Nonetheless, 9 of our 13 representatives to the U.S. House are Republicans, and the number of votes it takes to elect a Democrat to the House of Representatives in this state is roughly three times the number of votes it takes to elect a Republican. That is wrong. It was wrong when the Democrats gerrymandered the state in the 1990s and 2000s, and it is wrong that the Republicans are doing it now.
