I'm utterly addicted to Ketsui Death Label at the moment, trying to get my scores up to a respectable level - i'm just concentrating on normal at the moment, managed to get a score of 196,575,380 using the Type-B ship earlier this evening, which is my best so far but it's still way off the scores some of the guys over at the shmups forum have been posting.
@bobbynewmarkwii; he's talking about the Pandora homebrew console - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandora_(console) - that thing looks the nuts, I can't wait to see the stuff made for it after it's been out for a while.
What SHMUP(s) are you playing right now?

Re: What SHMUP(s) are you playing right now?
I've finally managed to take a break from Ketsui Death Label. The only thing that gave me a chance was the fact that I got Order of Ecclesia and Bleach Dark Souls over the weekend.
My scores keep slipping down the board at shmups.com. I can't keep up with them. My best was second place on the normal board, but I'm down to third or fourth now. I won't even bother posting my Extra Mode score!

So with my recent Xbox 360 purchase I picked up a few games on the Live Arcade. The first was Ikaruga and the second was Rez. And now I'm addicted to both. I'm also horrible at both.

Do you unlock Extra mode by beating Very Hard? Also, how many bosses are in Very Hard? I can only get up to stage 6.Doctor Fugue wrote:My scores keep slipping down the board at shmups.com. Anyways, i'm still utterly addicted to this game - finally managed to get a good score on normal (354,215,780 - A). Thanks again for the tips Dr. Fugue, if it wasn't for them i'd still be aimlessly plowing through wondering how in the hell everyones scoring so high...although, i'm still at a loss as to how people are getting 600k scores on normal

Beating Very Hard unlocks Death Label, and beating Death Label unlocks Extra. There are 10 bosses plus DOOM in Very Hard (which is all of them!). You're welcome for the tips, just don't go beating my scores!Bootaaay wrote:Do you unlock Extra mode by beating Very Hard? Also, how many bosses are in Very Hard? I can only get up to stage 6.

I got some genesis treasures in the mail.
-Contra Hard Corps
-Sol-Deace
-the grand daddy of genesis shmups MUSHA.
musha is such a brilliant game! I love it!
it feels foreign to just take hits like you do in that game, you hitbox is pretty big and your little option guns that you control take most of the damage but Im used to just about every shmup where you nimbly dodge everything instead of powering through stuff.

No, I mean the Pandora homebrew handheld console:bobbynewmarkiii wrote:'Pandora' - do u mean the battery for PSP?
http://www.openpandora.org/
600MHz - 1GHz scalable ARM processor (about 2-3 times as fast as a PSP, and buckets more RAM) running a customised Debian Linux. All the emulators you could want on a handheld designed from the ground up for homebrew. Despite the fact that I pre-ordered almost 2 months ago, it's worth the wait.

How do you find these two?Japhei wrote:Xbox 360: Raiden 4

I found Raiden III very slow, and have been reluctant to try 4 because of that. Similarly I didn't like Radirgy or Karous at all, and I'll probably skip Illvelo due to that. That is of course unless either gets rave reviews from fans of either series (Raiden 4 hasn't so far).
