The Generation NEX had NES and Fami slots, though I think you're right. Others just had 1 slot and maybe came with an adapter. Of course it was just the same old sort of clone chip as the rest of them. Still it looks nice and plays my one PAL game without complaints.

If you are a real Nintendo gamer, one would just get a NES from each region.

This is going to output RGB, unlike the Composite which is the best that the NES natively outputs. To get an NES to output RGB you needed either a Famicom Titler ($600+) or a PPU from a Vs Cabinet ($300+). Using something like a Extron scaler, you can take that RGB and convert it to HDMI for a modern tv.

The Retron and HDMI NES will both output HDMI natively.

I thought I mentioned Viletims adapter in there, I must have erased it in a rewrite. Regardless, that is not an install for those weary of electrical work - though all of these are about the same level of difficulty.
