Ultra Sexy new NES coming

So rather than going with one of the slightly-off clone consoles we have this sexy beast coming out, and it natively plays Famicom games to boot.

I still haven't seen any real hardware specs. WHAT exactly is it? WHY isn't it emulation. Do they just take a real NES console, a four score, and one of the new RGB mods and slap it inside a metal box?

For those with the money to burn, more power to you, but ill stick with what the Retron 5 is bringing to the table.

That's what it sounds like.

Also, the marketplace isn't a real forum.

Christoph made a telling comment in the other thread:
christoph wrote:Is is not a gutted system or a modification in any way. It is a NES reengineered from the ground up. I'll have all the details on how we achieved this at the end of the month! Can't wait to show you guys a peak inside... :D

So it sounds alot like the Retrousb HDMI NES. Bunnyboy rebuilt the NES from the ground up using an FPGA, instead of his original idea of tapping a digital signal off of the PPU. Anyway, anything we say right now is just speculation, but I am really curious. It does mean prices for specific NES games are about to skyrocket, again...Stupid Little Samson.

This isn't the first time I've seen someone do this.
There's also the Super 8. Which is a redesigned NES board. Though it uses original chips.

I'm curious if this project has the CPU and PPU re-designed. I know some groups were working on that, because socket CPU and PPUs are exceedingly expensive.

aaaaaaaaaand suddenly i wish i could commission someone out there to make me a case using the same aluminum, for my famiclone  \

im curious about one thing about this though, in the description he said "There are over 2,000 games for the NES, Famicom and Famicom Disk System. I want everyone to be able to explore them all, with no emulation" .... so does this thing have a Famicom Disk System?

I don't understand why people would buy the Retron, or even this for that matter, when you can find much cheaper original NES in very good condition.
If you are a real Nintendo gamer, one would just get a NES from each region.
