End-Gen Games: To Buy or Not To Buy

Definitely grab Okamiden since that one was OOP at one point and destined to be a desirable gem.

I remember it going for more than $40 and being happy that I supported the game on release.

Kirby Mass Attack was fun even though it doesn't get a lot of recognition... right now. It's well worth the asking price now.

I still need to get Giana Sisters. I found the C64 version to be quite enjoyable.

That game is a "high priority" game for me too. I have not yet seen a copy for sale...anywhere.

It's weird, I bought this one a few years back from Walmart.com since no one else had for sale. For the longest time I really thought it was exclusive to them.

Amusingly back in the day I played a pirate hack that changed the sprite to Mario.

Back in stock on April 15th.

It quickly went from in stock, to 1-2 day wait, to a wait, to Amazon not having it listed from them (for $49.99).

I caved and ordered it, and their initial "should arrive on the 15th" turned into it shipping yesterday and being out for delivery today.

In the meantime, it has reappeared on Konami's web store. Technically, Target also lists it online for that price, but out of stock last I saw.

Now Amazon doesnt have it listed anymore again, must of been a short reprint or Konami had some backup stock they found.

Already released on the PSP and scheduled for release on the 3DS, Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsegumi will be released in North America on April 29, 2014 for the PS3. Not really a game, this is a visual novel and to my knowledge has no gameplay elements at all. There is a limited edition also available which includes items such as a hair comb, hair pin, and charm. Likely to be a collector's item in the future, this seems to be more of a release for anime fans instead of gamers.

The series is also one of very few otome games (visual novels targeting a female audience) released outside of Japan. I can't imagine that there'll be a huge print run for it, considering it's a subniche of an already uncommon genre here.
