One thing I didn't realize until I used the original DS outdoors is that it is actually playable in direct sunlight. It and the GBA SP use a reflective rear screen that works in direct light with the internal light turned off. The GBA micro and DS Lite have a non reflective screen intended to be back-lit, so they are extremely difficult and sometimes impossible to see in outdoor daylight.

I discovered this from all my time sitting on a bench while my daughter was at the playground. I intentionally used a regular DS for this very reason. Also, it made the games' contrast look normal, instead of washed out, since many games were designed for the GBA's very dark, front-lit screen.

A Korean MMO has an astounding level of detail to their character creation toolset. People always work towards making beautiful characters, but for me, I take great pride in using the toolset to make the most disgusting, disfiguring machination of filth and refuse!

So do I :lol:. I want a character to actually look the part of being a battle hardened warrior or whatever. I want the people to be disgusted and afraid when I roll into town

The men are interesting, but the women all look the same, it's like they can't shake the notion that women could look different and yet still beautiful.

I was trying to complete the Riddler's side mission, but I found out that I have to find all the 400 trophies in the game to do so. If it takes just 1 minute to pick up each trophy, it will cost you 6.6 hours of your life time. Developers should never use this form of "grinding" to continue the game. This kind of stuff should be used for those who are super hard-core trying to reach maximum level with their characters, which is futile in a non-MMORPG game.

I started playing Heavenly Sword. I really can see what they were trying to achieve with this game. Its more of a showcase of what to expect from the ps3. But it should have been a launch title because, a full year after launch is when the good games usually start rolling in.

Its a very good example of how early games in a generation are no where near the capabilities of the console. The graphics kind of look grainy and blurred. Not sure if its an effect done on purpose or the game was developed like a ps2 game with enhanced textures.

To put things into perspective, Arkham City's gameplay graphics look better than Heavenly Sword's cut-scenes

In fairness, you don't need to do the Riddler stuff to beat the game just that side-quest. Is it worth it? That's for you to judge.

Trying to learn to play the theme from Ghosts N Goblins by ear on the piano is a difficult task. I don't have a clue if the song is even set in a specific key, as my fingers are all over the place.

I have it down fairly well, but my bass line for the song is more of a staggered pattern and not like the running bass from the original music. But for those who have heard me play, you already know I have a bit of my own style when it comes to playing by ear.

I'm thinking of breaking out my keyboard and seeing how the song would sound on a church organ.

Heavenly Sword was originally a multi-platform title, and work on it started only a couple years into the PS2's life. I think most of what they put in that's specific to the PS3 is the possibility of using motion control for the "aftertouch" system.

While the cutscene detail is somewhat low, offhand, I think the game stood out at the time for utilizing more actual motion capture than had been done. It's got nice sound design as well, if you have a good surround system.

@isiolia @emwearz

Thanks for answering my questions. I guess I will order the HD collection soon.

@sload soap

I know, but I got to complete all the other side missions so I figured I would do this one too. Plus, The Riddler showed up early in the game so I thought his fight would be a good one so I didn't want to miss it.

The Wii U is giving it a good run for its money :lol:
I seriousely believe NGC and N64 had better games than the Wii (Not bigger library). When I first saw 3D games on a cartridge with analogue stick it blew my mind (And everyone's mind as far as I can remember). Many revolutionary classic games were done on the N64 like Ocarina, 007, and first mario in 3D (first free roaming game in 3D?). It also had the first local 4-players without add-ons. When I think about how that is done on the technology back then and compare it to current consoles that will lag-big time with 4 local co-op (like Zombies on COD) its quite impressive.

While the Wii was revolutionary with its input controls that worked pretty well, hardly any games utilised it except for Wii Sports .

Not sure why the 64 gets so much hate :roll:
