N64 games were VERY pricey back in the day and adjusting for inflation, they are actually still bargains. However, I'd definitely say it may be worth paying attention to deals/prices now before the it keeps going up.
Luckily, the N64 has a relatively small library and it's even smaller when you cut out all of the sports games, which makes up about 25% of the library. It's a pretty easy console to collect for.
I agree. I come across more N64 games than any other cart based system.
That being said, finding the N64 controllers with a decent thumb stick, at a decent price, has proven quite difficult for me. Man, those translucent ones are a bitch to collect for.

I work in a store where people regularly argue with me over a penny. To think the average gamer is going to go out and spend $40-$50 on a game cart is crazy. Used junk from the 90s should be cheap. Cause it's used junk from the 90s, period.

If it's junk, then why are you so interested in it? Also, feel free to sell me all your games from the 90s for cheap.

I'd say someone that is actively looking for N64 games probably isn't your average gamer.
Also, I think a lot of people do not understand that these games are CHEAPER.
$40 today does not equal $40 in 1996 dollars. Moreover, N64 games were released routinely for more than $60 in its lifespan.

It's stuff, for sure. And it could be junk if you don't care. I'm sure you'd call a bunch of 50's garage items junk, but to some people it's a treasure. Someone's garbage is someone else's treasure, the saying goes. I'm all about playing a good game I remember from my childhood. But I'm not about ignoring the present and paying top dollar for a memory.

Nope. Jill Valentine is my favorite RE character, and 1998 was the year RE 2 was released. Thus endeth the description of my user name. I'm the kinda guy who WILL forego great games if they are over priced. I won't pay that extra $5-10 because someone else wants it. I'm pretty content and have a great personal life. I don't need any of those games, and I won't over pay for them. Take that fwiw.

We should all pay a fair price, because we are all people, and near $50 for a 17 year old game is over priced. [/quote]

You're implying that an older game cannot be of the same quality as a modern game if they can't command the same price. That's pretty terrible reasoning, in my opinion.

Cutting out the sports games is a mistake! They're great!
