You sure that wasn't a limited edition or something? Cause it's retailing on Amazon at the standard $59.99.Retrogamer0001 wrote:I was at EB today and noticed this game was retailing for 69.99...what the hell? Why so expensive?

Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
For those on the fence about which version to get, I'll say one frustrating aspect of the game that may feel like less of an issue for Vita players. The game is stingy on save points. This might not be so bad if you're playing on a portable, but it's frustrating being stuck in front of a TV until the game lets you save. Also, my PS3 is known to lock up from time to time, which sucks if you haven't had a chance to save yet. To date, my Vita has NEVER locked up or gotten frozen. It always performs perfectly.
I say this after spending 2 or 3 hours on the first three levels trying to experiment with different combos to maximize points and experience gained, only to have a trophy for nailing a 15 hit trap combo freeze my system, forcing me to turn it off and back on again, which then led me to boot the game back up and realize that I had to start playing from the very beginning of the game because I hadn't been given the chance to save yet. I was pretty pissed.
EDIT: Also, and this may not matter now that the game has already released, but I was pleased to see that my pre order DLC was cross buy for both systems

Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
Ended up buying the Vita version because I had an Amazon promo code.
Why is the PS3 version $20 more expensive?

Nope, standard edition. I would blame the exchange rate (I live in Canada) but no other game is 69.99 that I can see, so maybe it's just a random price hike on the part of EB? Either way, I'm not paying that price for a standard edition of a new game.MrEco wrote:You sure that wasn't a limited edition or something? Started playing this tonight. Surprised by how fun it is, though would have been nice to have an English dub.

Scored a 104 hit trap combo yesterday, it was an infinite combo though so I guess I can't brag too much. Doing an infinite combo on someone after you armor break them is awesome, as they're stuck in their undergarments as they get endlessly tortured. Pain AND humiliation! That electric chair in the dungeon area is very combo friendly. This player used the same area as me, but had more traps at his disposal. He must be much farther along in the game than me

Had en enemy get stuck on the ceiling in the room with the train on me today. Had to use a ceiling trap to get her down. Anyone else hit a bug like this?

I've had a few bugs/glitches while playing, nothing game breaking though. Some even helped me, I never encountered your particular bug thoughwclem wrote:Had en enemy get stuck on the ceiling in the room with the train on me today. Had to use a ceiling trap to get her down. Best Friends Play Deception
And just to show that not all critics are down on this game:

Most Japanese games get mixed reviews these days, it's just the current trend, but the above links show that the game has its fans

Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
Sigh
You know, it seems every time I get genuinely enthused about a game, I am at some point reminded, once again, that game designers (especially Japanese ones) are douschebags
The bosses in this game are COMPLETE FUCKING BULLSHIT!!!!!!
Like one who moves at three times your movement speed making it IMPOSSIBLE to run away from him, and, oh yeah, he can just randomly teleport next to you at any time even if you are three rooms away from him
Fuck you Tecmo Koei. I'm glad this game got shit reviews
