Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
Yes this is a day one purchase for me. I was very surprised to see this series make a come back. I'm a little confused with why this one is called IV though, considering technically there's already four games in the Deception series. Unless for some reason Trapt is not considered canon now.
Either way, looking forward to deliciously entertaining evil for my Vita!

Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
Never played any of these games, but since this is on Vita I may check it out. Prefer my RPGs on portables these days and my Vita isn't getting enough love.
Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
Tempting, but, it's hard to say if they improved on Trapt much, 'cause that one was not all that impressive. The videos don't really look like they did.
Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
I'm gonna give it a chance. I have every other one anyways, might as well get this one

Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
The Famitsu review was for the Vita version and was quite positive. I haven't quite decided which version to get yet, but the addition of touch control on Vita for this style of play sounds interesting. It's also about 20 bucks cheaper than the PS 3 version

Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
Did my part and bought the game. This one's really flying under a lot of radars, critics-wise. However, I saw it temporarily sold out at Amazon and Newegg yesterday, so I'm obviously not the only one buying this.

Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
Anyone rocking out the Vita version of Deception IV? I want to know how the touch screen/controls are and if the interface is "different" than that of the ps3 version?
I prefer real accounts from players as opposed to reviews.

Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
It took a lot of restarts, but I finally ran through the first stage in a way I was satisfied with. I cleared all optional goals(which are basically the sadistic requests of your peers who want you to entertain them as you torture your enemies), captured both enemies (You can do that in some rooms instead of killing people which nets you bonus points), AND I pulled off a 14 HIT COMBO!!!
14 HIT COMBO IN THE FIRST STAGE!!!
Took a lot of tries to pull that off, but damn was it satisfying, and as previously stated that combo ended with the enemy landing in a cage for a capture bonus. Sweet!!!
I pushed her off a ledge with a moving wall, got bonus points for the fall damage, used a floor spring trap to send her flying into the water wheel of torture, dropped a rake on the ground which smacked her in the face when she stood up, which dizzied her and turn her around RIGHT BACK INTO THE WATER WHEEL OF TORTURE AGAIN (muhahahahahah), then when she got of that thing again, I sprung another floor spring trap and watched her fly through the air, then I dropped a pumpkin on her head, watched her blindly walk forward, then hit her with another rake in the face, then sent a flying guillotine, which sent her flying through the air, landing on an electric chair, which bounced her up into the air, which means getting nailed AGAIN by the guillotine as it swung back around, then she landed on the chair, electrocuted again, bounced into the air, hit by the guillotine again (at this point her health is long gone and I'm just toying with the enemy), she finally hit the ground, only to be greeted by another rake to the face, which knocked her backwards, right onto another floor spring trap, which sent her flying into a hanging cage for the capture and my massive 14 hit trap combo bonus
Playing on PS3 by the way, I want to get the Vita version too though

Re: Deception IV: Blood Ties
I was at EB today and noticed this game was retailing for 69.99...what the hell? Why so expensive?
