Good calls, Bone. I have the CE of Witch and the Hundred Knight, Dark Souls 2, and FFX-X2 pre-ordered myself. I'll grab Tales when it drops in price a bit considering I already own the originals. I still believe there is more PS3 goodness on the way, so I'll keep this thread updated accordingly.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I typically don't love NIS stuff, but The Witch and the Hundred Knight looks pretty neat. An action-RPG for the PS3.
Also on my must-buy list: Drakengard 3 (I have it pre-ordered), Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, Final Fantasy X/X-2, Lightning Returns, Dark Souls II. Those are the ones I plan to get soon (or shortly after they launch). Then I'll be picking up the scraps hunting down used games and $19.99 stuff.
I have Ragnarok Odyssey on Vita. I didn't find it compelling enough to want to get the ACE version.

Re: End-Gen Games: To Buy or Not To Buy
I bought this game DIRECTLY from Amazon on March 7th for $52.61 shipped with Prime, and all the new copies are now $73 or higher on the 17th, and NOT sold DIRECTLY from Amazon, which leads me to believe it is out of print and will only go up from $73 for a NEW copy.Retrogamer0001 wrote: In my opinion, this one is a collector's item just waiting to happen. I haven't heard a single word about it online and it seems to have been released with little fanfare outside the Metal Gear community. I'm not sure about the print run, but I doubt copies are flying off retail shelves.
All games are ON DISC, except for MGS1 and VR missions, and i doubt those 2 games are going to make a used copy worth any less if the dlc code has been used.

Re: End-Gen Games: To Buy or Not To Buy
Hard to say for sure, given that Metal Gear hype is likely high right now. It's still $50 on Best Buy or direct from Konami. Is there any physical content beyond the HD Collection disc and MGS4 disc? The comics or something?

So i was checking amazon and new copies of Nier and Folklore are going expensive for some reason

Used copies are still cheap though.

Two really good limited edition sets to grab right now are Killer is Dead and Tekken Hybrid. Both come with really nice artbooks and sound tracks in a really nice sleeve.
TEKKEN Hybrid Limited Edition is only $15 new and still available all over the place around here.

Killer is Dead has been discounted to $20 in just about every store I have been in but most stores are down to their shelf units of the limited edition so they are about to run out.

Re: End-Gen Games: To Buy or Not To Buy
Amazon is about the worst place on earth to buy a "new" game once Amazon itself runs out of copies. Once amazon's out of the way a lot of the resellers seem to loose their shit and start charging ridiculously inflated prices.Damm64 wrote:So i was checking amazon and new copies of Nier and Folklore are going expensive for some reason![]()

This thread has made me seriously consider backing up a shitton of my games onto a digital format and to keep multiple copies of my download only games. Gotta preserve our geeky history for generations to come.

Great topic going on here! I thought I'd add my suggestions.
I will begin with PS3. If you like what you hear, I can post my suggestions for Wii, PSP, DS, and others.
Afrika - It's like Aquanaut's Holiday in Africa! quite pricey and hard to find.
Arcania: The Complete Collection - most people don't even know it exists.
Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1 - there is and probably never will be a vol. 2. fyi this one has no manual.
Catherine - developing a major cult following because it's a crazy, bizarre, good, deep game. Atlus published, so already you know low print vs. big titles. It's one of their most successful but still if it continues to gain fame, watch out for this one!
Cross Edge - very interesting concept.
Dead Rising 2 (Zombrex Collector's Edition) - toughie to find! comes in a steel case.
Disney Sing It: Family Hits - rare occasion to sing popular Disney songs on Karaoke. The Wii version is even harder to find for a good price.
El Shaddai: Ascension of Metatron - undiscovered gem
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F - i have yet to pick this one up, but have the demo. great game from sega.
Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom - see El Shaddai above
Mugen Souls
Nier - went from being easy to find to nobody has a copy. I like it but it's not the best game ever.
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (Wizard's Edition) - good luck, this one is already 200+, i think it retailed for that or more. not sure what it includes, but its the one big box collector set that has piqued my interest.
Puppeteer - amazing platformer, released in 2013 by Sony!
Terraria - the boxed edition has no disc, just a voucher and other tools including a shovel sd card. It's #'d. I never saw a retail copy above 10,000. I am guessing it sold poorly, so watch out for this one.
Trinity Universe - bite my tongue on this one... I missed my chance to get it cheap.
Since PS3 is region-free, I will also recommend:
Wonderbook: Diggs Nightcrawler (UK Release). The NTSC was download only so this is the only physical release for this VERY UNIQUE title.

This game is on my list because it was a PS3 exclusive and I passed up on it when I saw it at gamestop. Silly me.
