Trying to remember all the shows I went to is hard! (Especially when all the small, local stuff crowds your brain.) Here's a partial list of bands/acts I've seen, some multiple times:

This is gonna be fun. Let me check Fossil tin where I keep my stubs and wristbands...
Let's see...
I've seen Deftones twice. First time in June of 2007 in LA. Crappy seats but the concert was awesome. 2nd time was in 2011? in Pomona. I was surrounded by people and couldn't even get into the pit so I was literally surrounded by people the entire night (also sucks when you're 5'6'' and damn near everybody else around you in a 20 ft radius is taller than you, blah).
Norma Jean I've seen twice at The Glasshouse in Pomona (2008, 2011). First time was awesome, even though some asshole let off pepper spray near the end of "Memphis Will Be Laid to Waste" and I was coughing during the last 2 minutes of the song because of it. 2nd time was part of the.....shit I have no idea what tour that was, but Impending Doom was on it too (and they were awesome). They had 2 guys as replacements but it was still a good concert. Crowd sucked ass though. One of my favorite parts was in between songs when Cory Brandan (the vocalist) was commenting about how so many people were there on a weeknight and asked all of us in the crowd if we were unemployed and nearly everyone was like "YEAAAAAHHHH!" and then he said "Stop voting for Democrats!". About 3 people, including me, went "yeah". I met Cory after the concert (along with guitarist Chris Day) and I told him I enjoyed that speech and he laughed about it. I just wish I got the poster for that concert though.
I saw Meshuggah in Hollywood. Only time I ever feared for my life in a moshpit. How I didn't get trampled and suffer broken bones during that concert I'll never know...
Every Time I Die at the Glasshouse. 13 bucks. It was madness.
Went to the first Rockstar Mayhem in 2008 at the former Glen Helen Pavillion and saw Slipknot, Disturbed, Underoath, Machine Head, Suicide Silence, and I COULD have seen Mastodon, but I wasn't into Mastodon at the time so during their set, I basically sat on the grass near the port-a-potties for like 40 minutes. Funniest part was when I was walking in the parking lot to the entrance, some dude in his pick up truck (probably already drunk), saw a group of teens in black girl pants walking by so he shouted at them if they like Miley Cyrus. They didn't say anything and he yelled "Bunch of Disney Channel loving motherfuckers!"
Saw Sounds of the Underground in 2007 out in the OC. Some good stuff. Saw Gwar, Darkest Hour, Every Time I Die, Shadows Fall, etc.
I saw Lupe Fiasco at the first H.E.A.T. festival at UC Riverside (my alma mater) in 2007. That day actually didn't start well, because that morning I (and some friends) went to a funeral for a acquaintance of mine I went to school with. Afterwards, I hung out at my friends' parents' house for a while before I went back home to change clothes and then go to Riverside for the H.E.A.T. concert. Went to my friend Nathan's place in R-side that was within walking distance of the concert so we had fast food and drank booze and it was a blast, until I got nauseous during the end of Lupe Fiasco's set. Oops.
Went to 2nd H.E.A.T. festival the following year because motherfucking 311 was playing. Did the same thing. Hung out at friend's place (same friend), got drunk, went to concert, had fun. Also saw Mos Def too. Best part. I paid no money for both concerts. Go me.
Speaking of UCR, I once walked the Clocktower as Unwritten Law was playing on the lawn in front of it. Couldn't stay because I had a Psychology final to study for that day. Also apparently Bad Religion once played at a parking lot at UCR but I didn't go because.....I went to a discussion for English class. I was one of maybe 5 people that showed up.
Speaking of Bad Religion, saw them at Warped in Ventura, CA in 2007. Saw them, Paramore, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (not sure WHY though), saw Gallows and they were awesome, a couple of others I don't remember, and also Pennywise. I was an idiot and didn't put on any sunscreen so I got sunburned. Lame. Oh well. Good times.
Oh and I guess I should end it with, my first concert was Chicago at the Hilton in Vegas. I was 9 and I wore a suit. My dad wanted to take me because he wanted me to see their drummer Danny Seraphine play. He wasn't playing for them at the concert, and we found out years later he was kicked out of the band about a couple of years prior to that concert. My parents have seen Chicago a number of times. Most recently a year or two ago. My dad told me it was pretty good, and he was surprised that during one number, I think Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters joined in on drums (he wasn't exactly sure who it was but that it was from the Foo Fighters, so I'm guessing Hawkins), and my dad thought he was excellent. I'll have to check the pictures they took to see if it was him.
And I saw Michael Buble before he got famous (went with family, my mom got his autograph). Oh shit, I forgot, I also saw Tony Bennett was I was like 12 or something, and my dad ended up running into 3 members of his backing band during our trip (including that concert)
Man this is getting long. Better end it now.
So uh.....

Only one I've been to so far is Video Games Live, I'd recommend it if there's ever one near you.

I really like the new singer. He's not quite as good as Layne Staley but he's a decent substitute. We have tried to see them several times now and they tend to sell out a lot.Jagosaurus wrote:I've seen them with the new (a few yrs now) lead singer. Still very good.Frag Mortuus wrote:Wife and I are going to see Alice in Chains May 16th in Huntington WV.
My favorite band in concert is still probably Chevelle... Pete sings & plays rhythm/lead (band is only 3 ppl). It's really impressive live.
My concert list is too long... ranges from Korn to Tom Petty.
Like you, my concert list is super long and ranges from the likes of The Black Keys, to Tool, to Ice Cube, to *Insert Death Metal Band Here*. I've probably forgotten more bands I've seen that I will actually remember.
Let's give it a try though:
Korn
Ice Cube
Limp Bizkit (I know, I know, I'm not proud of this)
Orgy
Rammstein
Tool (5x)
Isis
Nine Inch Nails (3x)
Tweak Bird
Big Business
Yar
A Life Once Lost
The Faceless (3x)
Despised Icon(2x)
Job For A Cowboy (3x)
August Burns Red
Evergreen Terrace
As I Lay Dying
Still Remains
Whitechapel (3x)
Born of Osiris
Cannibal Corpse
Psychroptic
Kataklysm
Black Dahlia Murder (2x)
Aborted
Cryptopsy
Vader
Marilyn Manson
Slayer
Killswitch Engage
Mushroom Head
Trivium
All That Remains
God Forbid
ABACABB
Behemoth
All Shall Perish
I Declare War
Hate Breed
Devin Townsend Project
Scale The Summit
Between the Buried and Me (2x)
Cynic
Street Sweeper Social Club
Jane's Addiction
The Arctic Monkeys
The Black Keys
The Deftones
System of A Down
*There are a lot more, but I've forgotten them.
Re: What concerts have you attended?
Really cool to read about everyone's experiences.
I've been to a gazillion shows, these stand out in my brain:
Fantomas, 2001, a couple days after 9/11. Everyone was still kind of freaked out, Patton shouted at the audience, "What are you guys doing here?!? You should all be at home huddled in your bomb shelters!!" Incredible to watch those guys play live though, so precise.
Godspeed You Black Emperor at First Avenue in Minneapolis sometime in 2002. Best sounding show I've ever heard in my life.
Melt-Banana, three times. So, so, so, SOOOO insane.
Slayer in 1998. I was only 16 and got the everloving snot kicked out of me.

Re: What concerts have you attended?
I used to go to a lot of concerts, I used to be good at winning tickets off the radio (back before EVERYTHING went "Listen for your code and enter it online to win!" or national contests)... Let's see what I can think of
Jimmy Page/Robert Plant (Lily Haydn as opening act)
Edgefest -- bunch of bands there, I remember Tool (entire reason I went), 3 Doors Down, Joydrop, Sevendust
Music as a Weapon Tour - Disturbed, Adema, Drowning Pool, couple others can't remember
Pigface/KMFDM/Zeromancer - don't remember the tour name there
Family Values Tour (first one) - Korn, Limp Bizkit, Ice T, Rammstein
Evanescence, multiple times -- first time was a tiny venue in Poughkeepsie just before Daredevil soundtrack dropped, then slightly bigger in Philly, then a huge outdoor venue in Cleveland
Sevendust (and presumably other bands I don't remember) -- a friend won tickets to this one, was payback for me taking him to the Music as a Weapon tour.
Splashdown
Only one I paid for was Page & Plant, and one of the Evanescence shows, rest were won from the radio. I may have missed one or two, but those were the ones that popped to mind.
Hoping to go see Lindsay Stirling later this year.
Edit: Also went to see Celldweller. Paid for those tickets, but my buddy paid for the limo ride and drinks and everything else.... THAT was a fun experience. It was not a venue people would normally take a limo to, I think when we got there -- 8 very large and loud people, gothed out to the nines, drunk off our asses, practically pouring ourselves out of the limo -- people may have actually thought we WERE the band. But we were a little early, and the venue was a little late opening, so we ended up standing outside waiting for an hour -- the circle of people around us kept getting wider and wider as people went "We.... are not sure we want to be anywhere near them"
