What was the last movie you've seen?

It's terrible. Waste of a cast, waste of film, waste of time.

I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out how this wasn't something spectacular. The pieces are there, but...it's no good. The audience seemed to agree as there were a few walk outs.
I disagree, if you are in the mood for a more light-hearted war film. It feels like it is just a sequence of flashes in the lives of the men in the film, as opposed to a serious autobiographical look as to their service. It is at times severely hokey and forced(particularly the ending), at other times somewhat innocent and innocuous, but overall I thought it was ok. Not great, but not terrible.

Battle Royale
Suicide Club
Versus
The Returner
Ichi The Killer
Casshern
Moon Child
Shinobi

Anyone else watch Japanese movies? If so, please let me know of some I should watch and include your list of movies you own and/or have seen.
I watch a lot of Japanese movies. What exactly are you interested in? Your list is relatively recent, from 2000 on, so I assume you're looking for more modern films, but you have a mixture of genres, ranging from chanbara to action to horror to crime. Anything particular that you like, or just a sort of shotgun blast of potential films to check out?

I've recently seen, besides The LEGO Movie, LEGO: The Adventures of Clutch Powers, The Lion King 3 (or 1/2 in some places) & Doctor Who (1996).
One was enjoyable, one sucked really badly, and one was... eh.
N64/NES/FC/SNES/SFC/GB (SGB)/GBC (Black)(SGB)/FDS/Satellaview/Genesis/Mega Drive/Master System & maybe N64DD/GBC/GBA.

I'm so sorry you subjected yourself to the really sucky one. I was happy about it until I watched it when it came out and wondered WTF they were smoking trying to Americanize it. :|

I did like the reference to the release date of the original movie. Seems like they're going to acknowledge its existence with broad strokes, since Ken Watanabe's character was in the original and dies taking down Godzilla.

The marketing campaign has been something else. Re-releases, multiple screenings with inde theaters...They're doing almost everything right and playing to existing Godzilla fans.

I should have seen it back in December, but missed out (stupid holidays).

Aren't there going to be multiple monsters in the new Godzilla? I've heard maybe Mothra. That'd be cool and make it more like the 'Zilla films I've seen which have humans caught in the middle of this awesome and destructive monster clash. Obviously I want Ghidorah. That guy cracks me up.

I really hope there is other monsters. Those were the Godzilla's that always caught me the best, the ones with other monsters. The original works with all the simple puny humans fighting him, but with the setup on the new one I think bringing in other monsters will really bring the punch.

Gigan was always my favorite. The guy has a buzzsaw in his chest.
