I disagree, if you are in the mood for a more light-hearted war film. It feels like it is just a sequence of flashes in the lives of the men in the film, as opposed to a serious autobiographical look as to their service. It is at times severely hokey and forced(particularly the ending), at other times somewhat innocent and innocuous, but overall I thought it was ok. Not great, but not terrible.Luke wrote:THE MONUMENTS MEN
It's terrible. Waste of a cast, waste of film, waste of time.
I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out how this wasn't something spectacular. The pieces are there, but...it's no good. The audience seemed to agree as there were a few walk outs.
I watch a lot of Japanese movies. What exactly are you interested in? Your list is relatively recent, from 2000 on, so I assume you're looking for more modern films, but you have a mixture of genres, ranging from chanbara to action to horror to crime. Anything particular that you like, or just a sort of shotgun blast of potential films to check out?Sano wrote:So, here are some of the Japanese movies I have seen and/or own.
Battle Royale
Suicide Club
Versus
The Returner
Ichi The Killer
Casshern
Moon Child
Shinobi
Anyone else watch Japanese movies? If so, please let me know of some I should watch and include your list of movies you own and/or have seen.
