Street Fighter 4 PC Requirements
Street Fighter 4 PC Requirements
Does anybody have any idea of what the recommended specs will be for the PC version of Street Fighter 4?

Re: Street Fighter 4 PC Requirements
Probably nothing crazy. Just look at the game. It's not maxing out the consoles, that's for sure. People on the inside have even commented on how it was a very easy job porting to the consoles. The game doesn't use any really new age effects.
If the game is great and the PC port is solid, this may be the first PC fighter I have ever bought. Hope the internet play doesnt suck.

I really hope so too, and programs like GGPO proved that lag-free online in fighting games is possible as long as the ping between the two players is reasonable.Mozgus wrote:Hope the internet play doesnt suck.
On the requirements the arcade version runs on this (found it from wiki)

Of course this isn't a true indication on what the actual PC requirements will be but at least it's an idea.

The GGPO code that helped refine online play for SSFIITHDR, essentially making it one of the best playing online fighting games, will probably be utilized in SFIV. I'd bet it'll play very well online.
EDIT: Beaten to the punch!

Really? I thought that's what you were referring to.
Anyway, yes. GGPO along with the extensive beta period helped polish the online play of SSFIITHDR. I'm very pleased with the results.

I said that GGPO has the ability for lag-free online play in fighting games and by your post i thought you meant that the GGPO code used officially by Capcom for SSFIITHDR. That's why i surprised, because i didn't know that.ZenLogikos wrote:Really? I thought that's what you were referring to.

That was going to be my response. I think the specs will be pretty damned close.Haruspex wrote:On the requirements the arcade version runs on this (found it from wiki)

It's not a graphically intense game by any stretch of the imagination. I think even a low-end DX9 capable card will get you over the mark.

Well, I'm still running a Pentium 4 at the moment. Will that be an issue?

Here's the specs for the Taito TypeX2:
http://img.hexus.net/v2/internationalev ... ed-big.jpg
In case the image doesn't load:
Looking at the graphics engine, it doesn't leverage a whole bunch of cutting-edge features. Similarly it doesn't have huge polycounts (main characters or backgrounds). The arcade system allows operators to choose the resolution, and most I've seen locally here in Australia choose 720p (1366x768) on 32" 16:9 LCD monitors.Chip set: Intel Q965 + Ich8 FSB 1066MHz
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz / Pentium 4 3.4GHz / Celeron D 3.2GHz
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Embedded
Memory: 512MByte (256 MByte x 2)
Video Card: PCI-e ATI RADEON X1600 Pro / X1300LE / NVidia GeForce 7900GS / 7300GS
Sound: HD AUDIO 7.1ch
HDD: 80GByte (S-ATA2)
Power: 250W or 400W
During initial development there were rumours that the devs were aiming for the ability to get the game working on PS2 (with possible fewer shader effects) and Wii as well as (at the time) "next-gen" consoles. Unless they've completely buggered development (which would be hard, given that the arcade system is Windows XP based), I would say that a 2.5GHz or better P4 (or equivalent) and basic DX9 card will get you over the line just fine.
