(If he didn't actually mean that, then his first premise about humans and animals worth the same was incorrect, since, I presume, he isn't a cannibal.) Someone mentioned other animals, fish and bugs, and BurningDoom wrote that off as nothing. They are animals, and if he thinks they don't have any cognitive ability beyond strict survival, then he's obviously never watched a spider intricately plan the capture of an insect, or that a goldfish's memory is up to five months. Lest we forget, sharks are fish, and many people own tarantulas as pets.
All I did was ask him where he draws the line.
