which should be fine. Is he hurting anyone by having it? Is he persecuting other people because of it? Nope. He can have an opinion on a topic that seems so trivial to be arguing over. We aren't all saints.
Oh, it's very fine.

But if you're going to voice opinions in a public forum, then be prepared for others to also have opinions about said opinions.

BurningDoom: "Animal's lives are worth just as much as people's." Therefore, they should not be killed. This implies, although not said, that they should not be eaten as well. (If he didn't actually mean that, then his first premise about humans and animals worth the same was incorrect, since, I presume, he isn't a cannibal.) Someone mentioned other animals, fish and bugs, and BurningDoom wrote that off as nothing. They are animals, and if he thinks they don't have any cognitive ability beyond strict survival, then he's obviously never watched a spider intricately plan the capture of an insect, or that a goldfish's memory is up to five months. Lest we forget, sharks are fish, and many people own tarantulas as pets.

All I did was ask him where he draws the line.

I think it should be noted at this point that I like to eat animals, and I would eat a dog. Or a cat. Or a monkey. Or perhaps all of you. The human body is a treasure trove of nutrients that is required to run the human body, so we are effectively our own perfect food source, particularly in situations where other sources of protein and nutrients are scarce, be it in the snowy mountains of Colorado, or the sunny islands of Polynesia.

But I will NOT eat bat in Laos. That's just a bad idea.

Cannibalism is generally not a healthy thing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuru_%28disease%29
The term "kuru" derives from the Fore word "kuria/guria" ("to shake"), a reference to the body tremors that are a classic symptom of the disease; it is also known among the Fore as the laughing sickness due to the pathologic bursts of laughter people would display when afflicted with the disease. It is now widely accepted that Kuru was transmitted among members of the Fore tribe of Papua New Guinea via cannibalism.

A British and Irish inquiry into BSE [mad cow disease] concluded the epizootic was caused by cattle, which are normally herbivores, being fed the remains of other cattle in the form of meat and bone meal (MBM), which caused the infectious agent to spread.

There's a reason that, despite the many differences between different cultures and over the course of history, generally all but the most primitive or superstitious groups have shunned cannibalism. It's an objectively bad thing.

I've heard that according to people who've eaten dog, it's a very tasty meat. Maybe even on par with beef. Cat on the other hand is supposed to be tough, stringy, and not very tasty. I don't know about monkey but I share the aversion towards eating things that resemble people.

I don't know anything about house cats, but I know that bobcat is very stringy, and has to be cooked appropriately or made in to a stew or some such. Mountain lion isn't as stringy, but not nearly on the level of beef or anything like that. Bear is very good, although a bit gamey. I wasn't fond of coyote, extremely gamey and such. Supposedly that's a problem with a lot of animals who tend to feed on carrion, although I haven't ate that many. Buffalo is great though.

I want to try lion and a couple other things, but the money isn't there for me. Or a good place to get it.

Werewolf > Wendigo

As someone once said, there's a reason they don't have a Karankawa reservation.

Just be careful. You may end up like Lycaon, i.e. be turned into a wolf, have your 50 sons killed, and cause the flooding of the whole world.
