Luke, you have redefined bureaucracy.Luke wrote:Ever been to a meeting to create an agenda for another meeting, followed up by a meeting about the meeting you just had?
I may be the one oddball who likes going to meetings. It lets me flex my interpersonal muscles in an age of computer screens and smartphones.
I like to schedule my meetings around different times depending on what I want to accomplish. Early morning meetings are nice to get me out of bed, dressed, and showered (carpe diem mode) so I can tackle my day head on. Ten o'clock meetings seem to be the best/most productive because everyone is wide awake, but no one is hungry just yet. If I want to keep a meeting brief, I will schedule is to begin right before lunch. Afternoons are a poor time for meetings for a number of reasons.
Plus meetings are a good chance to network with people in other departments.
