Mirrors of Fate is on disc, the dlc isn't.. Beat you to the nearest gamestop.. lolprfsnl_gmr wrote:I am a Castlevania fan, and I actually passed on that one. From what I have read, the DLC and Mirror of Fate are not actually on the disc (i.e., you get voucher codes for them); so, I just picked up the much, much cheaper original game. If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

That looks tempting especially with the offline DLC discs and with a current price at around 25 bucks. I missed out on the Special Edition with LP when it was at twenty bucks.Retrogamer0001 wrote:BioShock Ultimate Rapture Edition
Again, another game that no one has either talked or mentioned much about. Sure, it's just a re-release of two common games with DLC add-on, but that also means it's very unlikely many people are picking this up either. It will be interesting to see how this one turns out.
I've seen the Wii Angry Birds on display at Gamestop, at forty bucks definitely a ripoff. Though the Wii has mixed reviews, curious how well the Wiimote drag pointer will work in aiming at from what I understand knocking down the towers. I'll wait until they sell for a reasonable price. I am probably one of the few that has NEVER played angry birds.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Personally, I think it will be interesting to see if the upcoming Wii releases of Angry Birds Trilogy and Angry Birds Star Wars do anything. Those games are being released well after nearly every developer has given up on the Wii. (That said, those games are available everywhere; so, whether they will become sought-after rarities is anyone's guess...)
My pick for the Wii (though not an End Generation pressing) would be Sky Crawlers. Coded by the Ace Combat team, exclusive to Wii and relatively unknown maybe due to a more popular similar named game series?Retrogamer0001 wrote:As we begin to enter a generation shift in the gaming world, I thought it would be beneficial to start a thread with games to watch that will become collectible and sought-after after this generation begins to wrap up this winter. As with most end-of-the-generation releases, print runs can be limited and games can often slip under the radar except by die-hard fans. Since gaming generations only seem to last between five to ten years (except the PS2, which will likely continue getting releases long after the Apocalypse) this is a very interesting time to be a collector.
So, what games are out right now that are likely being overlooked, underrated, or just plain ignored by the mainstream gaming community?

I feel that any re-released game that comes with all DLC will be highly sought after like "GOTY" editions. The two Fallout games and two Elder Scroll games, Dishonored, and Forza 2 and 3 to name a few. I'd go after those as soon as possible.

Really? From what I have read, the back of the PS3 version states:TEKTORO wrote:Mirrors of Fate is on disc, the dlc isn't.. I agree. I only started my PS3 collection recently, and I will only purchase GOTY, Ultimate, etc. editions that include all of the DLC. I can attest that these versions are much harder to find, and I expect that they will hold their value much better than the originals. (Elder Scrolls III: GOTY Edition (Xbox) currently sells for three times as much as Elder Scrolls III (Xbox), and Ninja Gaiden Black (Xbox) currently sells for about twice as much as Ninja Gaiden (Xbox).) I also try to get games in "collections" whenever possible (i.e., I picked up the Infamous collection rather than picking up Infamous and Infamous 2).casterofdreams wrote:I feel that any re-released game that comes with all DLC will be highly sought after like "GOTY" editions. The PS3 copies have all the DLC on disc. The Xbox 360 copies have the DLC all on a separate disc. In other words I can share the disc with friends on the 360 version. You think that tidbit would keep the 360 copy higher in value?prfsnl_gmr wrote:I agree. Interesting. It might keep the value up a bit, and I could see how the second disc for each of those versions might become more sought after than anything else about those games.casterofdreams wrote: The PS3 copies have all the DLC on disc. (BTW, I pointed to Morrowind: GOTY (Xbox) and Ninja Gaiden Black (Xbox) because, to my knowledge, those two original Xbox games the only two games where: (1) DLC is included on disc; and (2) there is no longer any practicable way for people with the "regular" version of the game to download the DLC.)

Amazon reviews said Mirror of Fate wasn't on the disc.TEKTORO wrote:Mirrors of Fate is on disc, the dlc isn't.. I saw a unboxing of the ps3 version and the guy shows that all the DLC, the demo and mirror of fate is via download.CavZee wrote:Amazon reviews said Mirror of Fate wasn't on the disc.TEKTORO wrote:Mirrors of Fate is on disc, the dlc isn't.. Either way, a collection release with a download code is a big no from me.
Ducktales remastered... how long capcom will be able to keep that license? They already lost marvel and you can't get a "definitive version" since Jill and shuma gorat were always download only.

Got ya, I wasn't sure I just did a quick look up on GS site. I would just get the regular version in that case screw dlc content. Thanks for the clear up!
