Best memories- late nights playing skies of arcadia and grandia 2 then having to get up for work in the morning.

Worst- wife bought it for me the day before the price was slashed. Coulda been in half i don't recall. I was pissed though.

I had a few friends over one night last summer, and we were trying to find a good four player game to play. We did some research, and decided to burn a copy of Quake III Arena for Dreamcast. None of us had ever played Quake before, so we would all be at close to the same skill level. We played it for hours that night. We couldn't get enough of the fast paced gameplay, the pleasingly unrealistic physics, and the way they dealt with the Dreamcast controls (A,B,X,Y was the "look around" joystick. Many a headshot was had that night. It is now one of our most favorite games to play together.

Basically Soul Calibur in general. One of the top "this is the next gen" moments for me. Also: A friend and I once really got into a particular SC session and decided to play an epic "first to 50 wins" versus mode epic showdown. All the while another friend who was picking us up to go somewhere had to sit and watch through the majority of it lol.

Also Crazy Taxi, because it really felt like you had an arcade quality title in your home and not just a trimmed down version.

I first got a Dreamcast as a kid while at the beach with my Mom and Dad. This was when Playstation 2 and Gamecube were hot, so the store where I found it only wanted $15 for a brand new Dreamcast. I played the demo disc for hours, particularly Dead or Alive 2, MDK2, and Tony Hawk Pro Skater. I was still really impressed with the Dreamcast's graphics even though I already had a Gamecube. I even felt I could have upgraded from my Nintendo 64 to a Dreamcast instead of a Gamecube and been just as satisfied.

Ive got a couple:
1. The day it came out, I had just won a sizable Pokemon TCG tournament and had the money to buy one, but our Software ETC sold out two people in front of me. Then I found out that my little cousin got one so we went to his house and played Power Stone and Soul Calibur.

2. One of my friends wanted a PSX fairly badly for Madden 2002, he jokingly said he would trade his Dreamcast for one. So I traded my PSone, with two controllers and three soso games, for his Dreamcast, with three controllers, and Blitz 2000 and NFL2k. I rocked that Dreamcast hard until a couple years ago when I bought a Black Dreamcast and now it gets to rest.

3. Pulling out my Dreamcast at college when all my roommates were rocking PS2s or Xboxs, and blowing their minds with the NesterDC disc I compiled.

4. Loading up PSO for the first time, online, with other players. Sure I had played games online on my PC before, but never on a console. Let alone one that let me kill space chickens with a lightsaber.

5. Playing Gauntlet Legends with two of my younger cousins and my little brother, and powering through most of the game in one night. That was insanity, and still one of my favorite games to play period. I did figure out that if we got to a point where there was a monster generator in the background, we could use a rubberband and the character would shoot to gain exp. However if you did this the game would freeze. So if you took a second character and had a rubberband making them run a circle you could max level a character over night. The best area was in the second stage of the Egyptian area right after the beginning. At one point I had a max level character of every class.

6. Outtrigger.

7. Figuring out how to burn games and finally getting to play Propeller Arena. It was my most wanted game on the console, and when I finally got it, I lost the rest of the weekend to it. It is still one of my favorites, hence the avatar (yes even the hardcore Nintendo guys on staff at Racketboy have to rock Dreamcast avatars).

After Sega burned me with the Saturn I wasn't looking forward to the Dreamcast. However during the summer I went into a Best Buy and saw Sonic Adventure being played. I was blown away how the thing looked and played. Then I saw Power Stone and when I saw the gameplay footage I knew I had to buy it. I asked my parents for it on Christmas but a package was on my door on 9.9.99 and my parents gave it to me early and it was the most fun I had in a while and still have that same system to this day.

4-player Powerstone 2 matches were where it was at around my apartment those days. We'd always bring the DC to many a convention or tournament and get side matches in with any randoms that would play us in the BYOC areas of those places.

Those were some grand times for sure. Love Powerstone so much!

What I wouldn't do for a current gen remake of Powerstone 2 or even a sequel! I know with Crapcom's business model, that is a pipe dream, but man, people still love well-made 4 player games with tons of unlockables and content! WAI U NO WAN MAI MUNEY!?

The dreamcast was the multi-player console of choice for me and my friends for a long time, pretty much up until Halo took over.

We used to mostly play Spawn, Marvel Vs Capcom, Soul Calibur and Virtua Tennis. Good times all round.

My personal memories are of long hours hauling freight by the docks in Shemue, going way too fast in Sonic and making craaazy money among others.

Going to a friends house after school and playing entirely too much Dead or Alive 2.

Later we all made a after school club that was basically everyone sitting down and playing games. Dreamcast always got played the most due to being able to play burnt games on it. It was mostly used to play games that hadn't come out here. Stuff like Street Fighter III and Guilty Gear were games of choice.

Those were always fun days.

Another pretty good memory is I somewhat forced a friend to buy one like five years ago, they were so cheap and abundant. He really had no interest, I really forced his hand. I gave him a stack of burnt games just to show him what's out there. He called me a week later thanking me profusely for forcing him to buy one of the best systems he's ever played (his words).

So that was pretty awesome.

Playing Crazy Taxi in EB games for the first time and deciding that I had to own a Dreamcast no matter what.

The first time I played Soul Calibur at a friend's party. I think I ended up spending most of the night playing Soul Calibur.

Getting chased by the whale in the demo for Sonic Adventure.

Any time I played Power Stone 2 with a group of friends.

Playing through all the different story modes in Tech Romancer.

Finally unlocking all the characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Pissing off one of my friends by beating him several times in Marvel vs. Capcom 2 until he'd switch to one of the SNK fighters and kick my ass.

Grandia 2 (brilliant battle system) and Skies of Arcadia (brilliant story and world) and I'm not even an RPG guy.

Just sitting and watching the colorful mess of Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram. Putting it on cpu vs. cpu and enjoying the mecha showdowns.

Beating the final level of Bangai-O.

The "brilliant" voice acting of House of the Dead 2.

My brief obsession with Gundam Side Story: 0079.
