The mere existence of Waka is enough to consider it the most intrusive piece of shit in any game. Goddamn.

Of course, I don't think very highly of FFX in the first place!

Every character in FFX is annoying except for maybe Auron.

I really like the game anyway for some reason.

In the game Ultimate Spider-Man for Gamecube (as well as PS2 and XBOX I believe) the game grinds to a hault when Spider-Man must race Johnny Storm around New York. These race segments are unskippable. If you loose the race, you must try again and again until you win regardless of how many failed attempts you make. I actually quite playing a game I otherwise enjoyed because I could not beat Johnny Storm.

Ugh. That and all the races in that game. Electro, Venom, Storm...the races weren't that much fun. But those really weren't mini-games, but a part of the game.

Uuugh games with random racing things suck too. I hate the race mini-game in Solatorobo. The game is mindlessly easy except the racing segments which are just a huge pain in the ass. Some of it is mandatory, and if you're a completionist there's items and collectibles you can only get by doing the rest of the races.

Sonic Rush Adventure also had a really terrible race mini-game for the Chaos Emeralds.

It's like 2 songs. It was not that bad, I actually liked that minigame.

Hey, Lucky Hit is all right. If you know where to go, you can make some fast cash and even some rare capsule toys (the silver and gold Durals for example)

I'm definitely in the "no Blitzball plz" group. I hated that game and even though you don't actually have to win, it takes too long to play. I feel like at some point, the Final Fantasy team got embarrassed about how they were making RPGs and tried to clutter their games up with as many minigames as possible to pretend the games are something else.
Gunstar Green wrote:Not sure this counts as a mini-game, but any time a straight-up action game decides to have a stealth segment that doesn't fit at all with the flow of the rest of the game.
That killed Lost in Blue for me. I finally got the hang of SURVIVING, making sure I had enough food and stuff, and all of a sudden I'm being forced to wait for enemy guards to turn their back so I can sneak into their militaristic compound? NOT WHAT I SIGNED UP FOR.
But I liked the earlier stuff so much I sometimes want to go back and finish the game...
