I'm always wary of sequels, especially with movies. And on Amazon their seems to be three sequels to Ip Man, with at least one being a prequel. Can you give any incite on whether the sequels live up to the first?
THE LEGEND IS BORN prequel is was ok. Some decent fight scenes.
THE GRANDMASTERS is the least of my favorite film depecting legendary Yip Man. The Yen Wo Ping Fight Scenes didn't do it for me. And the story feels to to be less of Yip and more on Gong Er and her quest for revenge.
THE FINAL FIGHT took me by surprise. It was a fantastic film and closest related to the actual title character of all the films. The actor portraying old Yip did a worthy performance. It also feels alot like a period piece of that time frame of his life and I really appreciated that.
Hope that helps. And yes I enjoyed Wilson Yip's Ip Man films very much. The first being my favorite of the 2.
Any who more kung fu flicks worth mentioning.
