I think they are the most inventive retail platformers in a long time, and arguably the best platforming series of the past generation that didn't have the word "Mario" in the title.

High praise, I will add them to my list.

You should!

LBP was my favorite PS3 game this past generation. I own LBP2, but have yet to start it. I've just been enjoying LBP1 so much, I didn't wanna give it up yet.

I don't know about other regions, but over here we got LBP1 Game of the Year Edition, which includes DLC that the original release didn't have (although it could be bought on PSN). Also, there was LBP2 Special Edition which also included DLC. I don't know if they had those releases in all territories, but if they have them in yours, you should definitely get those editions and not the original releases. Not that you'll be missing out on all so much, but free stuff is always nice.

Thanks for the comparison, DSH. I am really excited about these games. (I may also have to pick up LBP: Karting based on your recommendation.)

I have a copy of LBP2: Special Edition, but I am holding off on it until I have spent some time with the original LBP. I have not yet located a "black label" copy of the GOTY version in good condition, however... :(

I'm not sure if its a good thing if I asked about LBPK and people are talking about the platformers instead.

Yeah, from what I've read about LBP2, it sounds like I might not wanna go back to LBP1 after playing it.

I was actually trying to 100% LBP1 with my brother. My plan was to start LBP2 after that. But then I had some problems when I switched from a PS3 fat to a PS3 Slim. For some reason my LBP progress was messed up.

We're talking about the LBP series since Crynox asked if the games are any good.

I'm having a blast with LBPK.

Speaking of LBP in general, did any one hear about LBP Hub?

So as not to create another thread I'll post mine in this one:

Which is the better game: Little Big Planet Karting or Modnation Racers? I had tried the demo (or was it beta?) of Modnation and the loading times were just horrible so that really put me off. As for LBP Karting, I have never even tried it so I'm open to your opinions :)

I've never played Modnation Racers, so I can't comment. What I can say though is that LBP Karting is a hell of a lot of fun. I don't like many Mario Kart clones, but this one I enjoyed. It really feels like the LBP world. So if you like the LBP games, you should like this.

I haven't played LBP Karting in a while now. I think MK8 just killed it for me. MK8 might not have the whole customization and track building side that LBP has, but the actual racing in MK8 is just so much better.

So I guess this is a must for me, thanks for the tips guys :).

Yeah I'm sure MK8 is awesome but I don't own a Wii U yet :(.

I do own Sega All Star Racing Transformed, but it's a bit "slow" for my tastes.
