He wrote Flash several years ago when Wally was still Flash, yes. But he also wrote Flash: Rebirth and the following ongoing, as well as the New 52 Flash, too.
I liked Johns' take on Wally West in 2000, but never liked the revival of Barry Allen even though I did read the first 12 issues he wrote before the New52. Francis Manapul wrote and penciled the New 52 Flash (issues 1-25 with a fill-in here and there).
Anyway, I understand where you are coming from... This argument is not going to go anywhere. We have different opinions and I respect yours and respectfully disagree that he is still a top-tier writer.
I am real excited after reading Jeff Parker's first issue of Aquaman last week and think that he can move the character forward building on the foundation that Johns' set.
Remember I am bias about Superman and Aquaman and admit since I love the characters I will almost side with them on an argument and I am not afraid to admit it. I did start to wain against the New52 version of Superman after talking with Mike W. Barr and Jon Bogdanove, but am being bias again since recently (last 2-3 issues) he has been acting more like the "Big Blue Boyscout" and less like a "punch first people second" character. I myself have no problem with the New52 as a whole. Reboots happen and continuity is continually changed, but since the original Crissis whole comic universe never usually get rebooted all at once.
