And you're crazy if you think I'm going to apologize for arguing that Geoff Johns is one of the greatest comic writers today. There's no way in hell the guy is just an average comic writer. Might as well say that Stephen King is just an average novel writer, he wrote those classics years ago, right? (I used the blue now, alright?)
King does suck now, and some of his works I'd say are far worse than average. He sucked through the 1990s, peaked again with The Dark Tower(which he originally developed years before), but has gone back to sucking. Every writer has peaks and valleys, and in SpaceBooger's opinion, Geoffs has entered a valley. He may come up with something wonderful to escape it or sink further. But SB has every right to his opinion.

And I am now telling you as a moderator to be respectful of his opinion despite your disagreeing with it. I also will not tolerate sarcastic rebuttals.
Are you kidding me? In this place? You don't accept sarcastic rebuttals? I never directly insulted the guy, get off your high horse, dude. I simply disagreed with him. I vehemently disagreed, yeah, and I still absolutely do; but I never said you suck or called him names or anything.

In truth, almost every other form of visual entertainment is much more evolved as a medium/art form :)

For example, an art house video of someone shitting on Cheerios > Shenmue

Put that on the top line of your next syllabus.

Which begs the question: Which had more of an impact on the culture of society:

The video of Andy Warhol eating a Burger

-or-

The video game Burger Time

I liked Johns' take on Wally West in 2000, but never liked the revival of Barry Allen even though I did read the first 12 issues he wrote before the New52. Francis Manapul wrote and penciled the New 52 Flash (issues 1-25 with a fill-in here and there).
Anyway, I understand where you are coming from... This argument is not going to go anywhere. We have different opinions and I respect yours and respectfully disagree that he is still a top-tier writer.

I am real excited after reading Jeff Parker's first issue of Aquaman last week and think that he can move the character forward building on the foundation that Johns' set.
Remember I am bias about Superman and Aquaman and admit since I love the characters I will almost side with them on an argument and I am not afraid to admit it. I did start to wain against the New52 version of Superman after talking with Mike W. Barr and Jon Bogdanove, but am being bias again since recently (last 2-3 issues) he has been acting more like the "Big Blue Boyscout" and less like a "punch first people second" character. I myself have no problem with the New52 as a whole. Reboots happen and continuity is continually changed, but since the original Crissis whole comic universe never usually get rebooted all at once.

Just because I like games and sometimes enjoy comics doesn't mean I am oblivious to their comparative historical, cultural significance or their relative strengths and weaknesses as writing or visual media....

Oh we can do this all day

Someone shitting on Cheerios > Shenmue > Braveheart > Geoff Johns pre-2005 > Geoff Johns post-2005 > snow > lawyers

Actually, we may have hit the bottom there...

Very well, BD. Since SB doesn't seem interesting in pursuing this, I'll lay off.

So in your mind the comparative historical, cultural significance in the world of art, within mind their strengths and weaknesses:

"an art house video of someone shitting on Cheerios > Shenmue"
