Also, this doesn't preclude a deal being worked out between Bethesda and GOG, it just means they weren't able to work something out before the Interplay rights expired (which could be for any number of perfectly valid and reasonable reasons).

That said, after comments CD Projekt made about the world in Skyrim, I'm not surprised Bethesda isn't dealing with them.
