Well, if there ever was a person who felt that E.T. wasn't as bad as the rest of the world says, it was me. I asked for the game for Christmas. That's right. I'm a badass now. If you kept playing it and completing it, your point bonus would increase and you could get some crazy scores. The game was rushed, the pits are a pain, but it's still fun if only for the exploration features.
As for Jaws, would you believe I called Nintendo's Game Counselors to figure out how to beat it? This was before YouTube and videos and stuff. Turns out, I had to kill Jaws with the red pole in front of the boat. I kept missing out on that. Not that the GC's advice was all that great anyway. "Just keep collecting strobes." Yeah, thanks. Finally beat it in the late 90s and was very disappointed with the ending.
