Light Crusader is another game I love. This is an excellent game, but it's not a platformer.

In what sense? Much of the game is spent platform jumping to progress in the game, or to solve puzzles. If that isn't platforming, I'm not too sure what is.

Yeah not sure I would call those platformers either, just as I wouldn't call Ultima VIII a platformer.
Then again, isometric games can be very tricky to classify. I suppose the "Platformer/RPG hybrids" term the OP used could work.
