Honestly... I've never finished Yoshi's Island, and I'm not crazy about it either. I may have been "guinie pigging" you on that one, in hopes that the posts you might make while playing it would inspire me to finally give it another go
Haha, nah, those posts would likely involve close to the level of swearing I actually say while playing, which means paragraphs of dirty words.

I am currently running through The Peace Keepers though. It's a beat 'em up that could have really shined and attained greatness, but the localization butchered it. I enjoy its hidden characters and branching paths, but the gutted storyline and music really hurts it.

Rushing Beat Shura (the Japanese version) was so much better. Heck, the original series was. Leave it to Jaleco, when it came to localization of any of their games, they were not experts.

Shame on you and Dunpeal -- I've 100%'d SMW 2 and I'm currently working on the GBA port doing the same thing. It's got even MORE levels if you can 100% everything.

You best get to Actraiser after this, you don't know what you're missing!

Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm a philistine for disliking SMW2. But the game just doesn't resonate with me and tends to leave me more frustrated than interested, even if it is a beautiful game.

I really wish Jaleco hadn't screwed up the Rushing Beat series. They have some issues with hit detection at times and a few cheap enemy designs, but they're amazing in their scale, particularly when you get to the final game in the trilogy. But the localizations are horrid, and Jaleco took something awesome and effectively just shit all over it. I've heard that the US office didn't even bother reading the Japanese storyline for the games and just started cutting and butchering.

And truth be told, Actraiser 2 left a bad taste in the mouth(that underwater boss which you can apparently only hit by dive attacking killed the game for me), but I'll go back to Actraiser after this.

Fwiw, I could not stand Actraiser 2 either, but I thoroughly enjoyed the first game.

Also, not sure if it was on the list or not, do you have Macross: Scrambled Valkyire?

Afraid not. Isn't that NTSC-J only? The only Super Famicom game that I own is actually a boxed copy of Final Fantasy V.

Ah, yep, it was only released in Japan. Damn shame too, its one of the better shmups on the system IMO.

Hmm... I don't see Space Megaforce on that list though, and that one WAS released in the states. :)

This always takes me by surprise. Pretty much every SNES game is fairly pricy over here, but I picked up Super Aleste, the UK version of Space Megaforce for under £5

It's the opposite over here. The average SNES game is about $14, but Space Megaforce is currently going around $55-$70. But it's fluctuated a lot over the years, so maybe it will sink down eventually.
