And I listen as it slowly goes from "Right, kid, I know what I'm doing..." to "Jesus kid, shut the hell up!" I find it funny that you were the last one standing considering you were the one who wasn't following orders.

Also, I realize the other kid dropped a buddy on accident, but...hey, he's probably pretty jumpy. It's a demo(meaning he's inexperienced) and he sounded like he was 12, so I figure he probably hasn't been playing games for too long, saw something move out of the corner of his eye, and unloaded on it. If it were a free-for-all, I'd say he had the right reaction, but it's not that kind of game. Accidents happen. The kid trying to run the show shouldn't have threatened kicking over it. For that matter, he shouldn't have been threatening kicking to get people to listen to him in the first place.

Oh yeah...I think I'm gonna kill-kick you Margus. Because it just sounds cool.

I was laughing so hard when he said that. I planned on killing all 3 of them, but the damn smoker snagged me. At least I blasted his face in on the way to my doom.

Also wanna say I had a good time playing with Zer, and Raztat tonight.

Who ever was on the mic that whole video was God awful annoying. Yet another reason I don't like multi-player games. Asshats with their mics demanding you listen to them, because "they know where to go and how to play".

I wonder if I can get Steam to run on this computer... hrmmm...

It's not so bad when you know the guys you're playing with, but random folks on the Internet? Nah...not really happy with the way they do things...

Played the demo last night. I was surprised at how good the graphics are considering it's running the source engine. Really atmospheric, the flashlight is awesome.

Glad you took the high ground in that vid, Moz.

I'm gonna be playing quite a bit tonight I think so i'll prob see some of you online. I'm not getting the game off steam though. I've got my pre-order down at Play.com since it's almost half the price it is on Steam plus I get a physical box and DVD media. Plus I can't download it off Steam because my fucking stupid ISP has a 'fair use policy' AKA: They cap it at fucking 40GB. They sent me a nasty letter saying i've used 70GB this month and if it happens again they're cutting my service. So much for 'Unlimited' bandwidth. So called 'unlimited service' I'm paying an extra £15 a month for. I called them up and said I want the limited service. I asked them what the cap was:
ISP:"I'm sorry but I can't disclose that information. We employ a fair use policy, it's in your terms and conditions"
ME:"I'm looking at my T&C now, it says nothing of the sort at all"
ISP:"it's on paragraph [some number and letters]"
ME:"My T&Cs does not contain that"
ISP:"IT does, Sir, It's [repeats same numbers and letters]"
ME:"Definately doesn't"
ISP"I can assure you, Sir, it does"
ME:"Are you calling me a lier?"
ISP"No, but it is stated in your T&Cs"
ME:"Can I speak to a manager?"
ISP:"one moment"
Manager:"I understand you have an issue with the fair usage policy [ISP] employs"
ME:"Yes, the service you sold me doesn't have one. The T&C I have in front of me in no way mentions any sort of soft-cap or fair usage policy. I KNOW this because I have read it. I'm not some pleb you can fob off with false promises and lies about it being in the T&C's. I used to work for Customer Support at [ISP]. However, I do actually know what I am talking about. You have never contacted me with an updated T&Cs, I do not have it in writing that you have changed my service, nor do I have any written evidence of said 'fair usage policy'.
Manager:"I apologise for the confusion in this matter but looking at your account you have been a customer with [ISP] for over over 7 years and we have changed T&Cs on our service several times. We are sorry you have an out of date T&Cs, we will send you a revised copy ASAP. We are sorry for contacting you regarding the usage cap please accept our apologies and understand that we have removed this warning from your account. However, we do now employ a fair usage policy and any further heavy use will solicit an automatic response from our servers.
Me: "So I no longer have an 'unlimited' service?"
Manager:"We employ a fair usage policy"
Me: "what is the next tariff down from the one I am currently using and does it too employ a fair usage policy?"
Manager: "It is £17 a month do you wish to downgrade your service. I must advise you that you cannot downgrade this service again until your 12 month contract rolls round again."
Me: "That is fine. What is the fair usage policy on that tariff? I must remind you that I have contacted consumer direct and they advise me you must tell me what the cap is as 'fair usage policy' is ambiguous and basically isn't worth the paper it's written on"
Manager: "40GB"
Me: "Thank-you, when will my tariff change?"
Manager: "Next billing date"
Me: "thank-you for your time"
Manager: "not a problem, is there anything else I can help you with?"
Me: "That is all, thank-you"
Manager: "Thanks for calling [ISP]customer support"

So in a nutshell. They are charging an extra £15 for an unlimited service, that isn't unlimited and has the exact same damn limit as the normal service. At least I know I can jump ship to another ISP that doesn't have usage caps on it in a few months time anyway.

ISPs suck.

Grrrr, got Steam running, but I can't click the "install now" buttons.

Any Linux users in here who use Wine with Steam? Help me out... winehq.org brings up that steam runs, but this very bug occurs. And I'm like... ok? So how do I install. One of the fixes is to install via iexplore, but if I do:

wine iexplore http://store.steampowered.com/

and navigate to it, JScript fails.

UGH!

so yeah, screw y'alls game.

@Niode... ugh, that sounds horrid! I'd be leaving them right away. They make you guys sign contracts with your ISPs? I can cut my connection any day I want with my ISP, and it is really unlimited with an average of 20Mbits/s DL connection.

Odd, I can use steam on my Mac and that uses Crossover, which is based on wine anyway. You definately got the latest version? You could try the latest CVS build if you aren't already using it? Other than that I don't know much about wine to be honest! Sorry!

ISP:
It's grade A Horseshit. But, just like everything in this stupid country, we have to bend over and take it. There's very few ISPs in this country who is actually 'Unlimited' but they all advertise it. It's fucking bollocks, but for some reason they can get away with it by saying 'fair use policy' AKA use it up to our 'limit' and we will warn you, do it again and we will cut your service down, do it again and we cut you off, give you your early termination fee (which is the sum total of line rental for the remainder months of your 12 month contract).

Oh right, blame the game. Don't blame your linux, which the game isn't supposed to run on in the first place.
