Dude...

I wanna play it. I wanna play it so freaking bad. And I don't want to play as one of the still living.

Can't wait to play with you then. I've been preordered for a while now. This could turn out to be the greatest zombie game of all time.

Also, everyone should watch the 720p version on steam.

Hey Mozgus, has Valve put out any close-up pictures of the Smoker or Hunter? I've seen them for the Boomer and Brute, and judging from that video the Hunter's a guy in a hoody, but outside of a few moments of gameplay where you see his tongue, I haven't seen much on the Smoker, and he's the guy I want to try the most.

I've actually tried NOT to search for any unofficial media on the game. I'm sticking to the official blog and not much else. They clearly intend on keeping the infected side much more mysterious, and I'm hoping that will make the game even better on arrival for me.

Fair enough, works for me. But I've already seen the guys I want to hunt.

What I don't understand is if there is seriously a single player game or just some pre-set bot matches? I keep hearing it both ways. Maybe it's somewhere in the middle like what The Ship did, where the basic structure is bot matches, but the game starts minimally with some cutscenes and sorta eases you into the elements a few at a time before the matches resemble the fleshed out online ones.

Judging from the Wikipedia page, it sounds like an odd combination of the two. 4 scenarios broken into several parts, other survivors are played by bots...

Actually what I find weird is a lack of mentioning if the Infected can be played by bots. Is that a "so obvious we won't mention it" deal, or what?

Yeah, Left 4 Dead looks pretty awesome. The intro looks great, and all I've seen of gameplay (not much, I tend to not really watch much about a game until it gets released) shows me the biggest problem will likely be finding good people to play with. Pretty sure there's forced friendly fire, and it looks like you'd be pretty well fucked if your teammates never helped much. So at least when I start playing I think I'll completely ignore pub servers, besides the problem of griefers which I'm afraid may exist with friendly fire, pub servers are a gamble when it comes to how well they play.

So I'm up for L4D with you guys if that ends up happening (I call the black guy, because everyone wants the war vet and I don't want to be the one stuck with Zoey, though I'm fine with any of the 3 males if someone else wants to kill zombies as a black guy with a suit and tie.)

Come to think of it, I wonder what happens when there's 3 or less survivors. Just no 4th player or a AI to fill the gap? Can't wait till the demo to learn the answer to all these questions.

Also,

Yeah, probably. The main normal zombies are always bots, and the 'boss' zombies are bots unless someone decides they want to play them.
