So, we had an awesome time in NH playing video games, searching for video games, and buying video games. I'm posting just a few of the highlights, since I didn't take as many photos as I'd hoped.

Photobooth stops are obligatory, so here are a couple choice shots of the group trying to cram into frame at Funspot:

A few more of Funspot under the cut:

One of our more interesting adventures involved the lot of us sifting through a massive disc-only PlayStation bargain section at a Gamestop, seeking their sole copy of Shadow of the Colossus for Hobie-wan (which we actually found!):

Then, after each of our daytrips, we settled into one hotel room to play some games on Hobie's PC Engine and my Sega Nomad. The first night we managed into the early morning without a problem, but on the second night the front desk called us and asked when we'd be done playing because our neighbors were complaining. Oops.

Wish I could have taken that Space Harrier arcade machine home with me. :(

Until I got them kicked out of their hotel because of my raucous behavior. I raged pretty hard on that hotel room after Nemoide Honda'd my ass in SSF2T.

Hey, you guys could have come. :P

So yeah, it was fun. Mostly we hit Funspot, but we also hit that Gamespot after Dinner on Saturday as well as a game store Pierrot mentioned (without him) on Sunday on the way to boot me onto the train. We hit the Gamestop just for shits and giggles since it was next to where we ate. Per Key's picture, they were crammed full of yellow envelopes of death. I joked as to whether there would be a Contra SS or non GH SHadow of the Colossus in there since I had a case/manual for each. I forget who urged me to ask, but the clerk said they supposedly had one of each in that disaster. I didn't intend on roping everyone into us looking through every disc, but we did and found both games. Thankfully other things were found too, so I wasn't just monopolizing everyone's time. I also got a KimPossible What's the Switch and R-Type Final discs which ended up being free.

Another of the photo booth crams.

Puzzle Bobble battle on Keith's Neo Geo machine.

A little Q-Bert action.
Image

Some ride on Space Harrier.
Image

We were playing 4 person Quartet, but took this as we were dwindling out.
Image

I was happy to play some Lock-On. Sadly the skills that let me 1CC it years ago at Six Flags had left me and I was relearning again.
Image

I did take some other pictures, but not nearly as many as I should have. I'm always bad about that. Oh well. Pictures in my head.

Space Harrier Cab!! Looks like a great time, that Arcade looks phenomenal!

You also gave me a heart attack with the picture of Wii boxes full of yellow envelope disc only PS2 games. Reminds me to load up on any remainder Wii games.

pierrot is quality. He won that weekend's Most Impressive Racketboy Award by translating, on-the-fly, the Japanese phrases that come out of the Parodius megaphone -- while not dying. I am paraphrasing, but this is basically how it went down:

"Is that bell gray yet? Okay, it's gray, it's gray. [under fire] Okay, uhh... uhh... LIFE IS ROSE-COLORED! Next one... [dodging bullets] ...something... GOD I BELIEVE IN YOU! Next one..." etc.

You pick a theme comprised of an image and an accompanying word/phrase when you first get into the booth, and that particular image was matched with the phrase "Besties." Need I say more.

Noise, Bone, I hope you can make it to the next NE meetup! We spoke fondly of you both in tribute.

Hmm, I guess in retrospect, cursing the names of the people that didn't show up perhaps wasn't the best idea. Oh well Live and learn. *shrug*
