Yeah the game seems to be fun, but not amazing. It was to its advantage that it came out on the PS1 and not N64 where it would have much more stiff competition.
The controls are fluent, but I just wish I could remap them so I can set the fire breathing attack to R1.
Also I looooove the animation for the characters. Specially Spyro's. It was very cute when he jumped in the water and he was swimming while sticking his neck out to avoid the water.
I will play a bit more today I think. I just played till I got to that castle main area.
Yeah, keep in mind that their primary competition on the console was Crash Bandicoot. They are what they are, relatively easy and simply, but still entertaining. "Cute" is a good way to describe them.
