Same here, and that's why I always wait until the price drops to $30 or less before I buy a COD game. I have fun with them but they're too short to justify paying $60.dsheinem wrote:I think that if the 3 single player campaigns in the Modern Warfare series were released as one standalone FPS campaign, it would be well regarded on its own merits. I am in the minority that plays recent COD games for the single player stuff first and foremost and maybe only dabbles for a few hours in multiplayer...and I've continued to enjoy the series.

I have to admit I like the over-the-top elements of MW campaigns. Something BF could learn from, since it's just as unrealistic. BF3's story tried to be ArmA-fied and failed miserably.

I like campaigns that are longer than 2 hours.
Re: CoD/Battlefield discussion thread
The campaigns in these series are not two hours. That's a stupid, oft repeated criticism that has no basis:Xeogred wrote:I like campaigns that are longer than 2 hours.

Search either series. The average campaigns are generally 5-8 hours.

I just gold medaled the first campaign mission on hard for BF4. Big step up from BF3 in every way.
They have implemented a scoring system, similar to what they use online, when you go over a score threshold you get a medal. You also find dogtags, weapons, etc throughout the campagin.
Really enjoying it and glad I have a rig that can run everything on ultra (other than a few things that are on high) with 125% rendering. The game is beautiful and slick at 60FPS with everything up there.

Do Call of Duty hardened editions sell out quickly or are they stocked for quite some time?
I'd like to get Ghosts with the season pass but I'm going to do Christmas shopping so I'll need my spare cash. I usually wind up with gift cards after the holidays so that'll knock a chunk off the price but I don't know how long they stay stocked.

Finally some Cod reviews that aren't 9's and 10's.

I find it funny that *some* COD fans care so much about graphics considering that, to my knowledge, the series continues to use a modified version of COD4's engine from '07. Battlefield is the series that makes any sort of progress.Ack wrote:Oh man. Graphics!
