So has anyone else got WWE 2K14?

As we all knew, it's basically just WWE 13, with a few minor improvements and a Wrestlemania mode taking over from the Attitude Era mode. That's ok, we expected it and we knew what we were getting. I'm enjoying it, although I preferred the continuity of the story of the Attitude Era mode more than just random Wrestlemania matches. Whilst I have watched a tonne of Wrestling and I am aware of many of the stories and feuds, I would have just liked more context, like there is with the Attitude Era mode. It was more fun in WWE 13 replaying famous storylines and feuds as a whole.

Here's hoping next year they really sit down and revamp the engine and look at what made games like Here Comes the Pain, No Mercy and Smackdown vs Raw 2006 good though. I'm tired of this glitchy engine. Gameplay-wise, it isn't bad, but it's kind of embarrassing that so many of the older games did it better. Universe mode also seems stuck in a rut. I think they could vastly improve it with the future games on the next gen systems. Hell, just make it into an awesome Season mode.

Edit: Oh and I forgot to say, some of the historical objectives seem pretty lazy and bland this time round. Maybe it's just me and WWE 13 had some dull ones too I've forgotten about, but seriously, some of them this time are just things like "1. Do your finisher" and "2. Pin your opponent" and it's like, duh, I would do that in every match

Oh and I would have thought the Goldberg v Brock Lesnar match would have had an objective of "avoid locking up with Brock for 6 hours" but it didn't :(

Sounds like it's worth picking up. I was a big fan of WWE '13, particularly the storyline mode.

It'd be funny if you actually had to recreate some of history's worst Wrestlemania matches
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

I'd like to see a wrestling games that offers a different experience, not more of the same thing like CAW and the usual cheesy story line modes. Something like All Stars was refreshing...

hope to see something new with the capabilities of the next gen.

This just came up to my mind, why are wrestling games never released on PC

Well in this instance, you actually do get to recreate the Goldberg v Lesnar match, but it unfortunately doesn't include the insane boos :P It's like they just included it, because they couldn't include the real highlights of XX, Benoit's victory and Guerrero's victory over Angle, but they wanted to pretend it wasn't the huge fail it was.

BTW, I noticed I was going through the 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode quite quickly and I could have sworn the Attitude Era mode was much longer, so I looked it up. WWE 13's Attitude Era Mode had 65 matches. 30 Years of Wrestlemania mode only has 45 matches. What gives Yukes? It's a shame I haven't seen any reviews acknowledge that the campaign mode this year is actually much shorter :(

I'm looking forward to the next game in the series, where they'll no doubt design a new engine, revamp the gameplay and come up with some new modes. It really makes me sad how much evolution the WWE games underwent back in the 5th and 6th generation of consoles, and then since then, it feels like the series has somewhat stagnated and in many places, actually regressed and deteriorated.
